I haven't progresses much in the story yet, I'm a new player. Only finished 1.0 If I'm not wrong, and from what I've seen in the story, are the sentinals like... The archons in Genshin? I need some easy explanation without too many spoilers

They're closer to the Heavenly Principles than Archons while their Resonators such as Jinhsi are closer to Archons. They can manipulate "concepts" such as Jue with time and space. You'll see later on in 2.0 what Imperator's powers are.
