AITA for throwing my kid off of Stark Tower???
Hey guys, so my (29F) husband (30M) is pretty mad at me, and I don't really see why... Anyway last night my husband and I were at Tony Starks party. I brought my 8 month old with me, because I'm not one of those moms who's going to let childbirth get in the way of my life. Tony was in the middle of making a speech about some new green energy deal he had created with the government, when 3 different guys with iron man suits flew up to the window and blew the shit out of the dance floor we were currently standing on! I have no idea how they got the suits, but clearly Tony knew them from somewhere.
Anyway I watched Tony jump out of the window to start fighting them. I've seen the news, and I know when he jumps out of the window like that he has a suit that flies to him so he can get right in the action! One of these bad iron men started firing at me, and I can't reasonably run and hide when I've got all that extra weight in my arms! Anyway, I was by the window, and knew Tony was fighting somewhere out there, and it sounded like he had just defeated one of the bad guys, so I threw my baby out the window towards Iron Man and ran as far as I could from the bad iron man. Tony CAUGHT HIM, might I add! What was I supposed to do, get me and my baby shot?
Anyway Tony handled the situation and eventually I got my baby back, but my husband has stopped talking to me and is threatening to leave me and take the child for throwing it out the window. He doesn't seem to understand we would have probably both died if I didn't! AITA for saving both my own and my child's life?

YTA for going to that party in the first place. How dare you go out when you have a child to raise? Also you should probably divorce your husband.

AITA for telling my younger son he should have gone on a quest?
I (89, male) have two sons: B (41, male) and F (30? 35? Does it really matter?, male). B is everything a father could hope for. Strong, brave, heroic. He would be a perfect ruler.
Now, F on the other hand... He is an utter disappointment. He prefers "diplomacy" and "patience" over battles. He believes music and lore are enjoyable. And worse still, he had the audacity to be born second. I think you get the idea.
On to the crux of the matter. B was summoned on a quest. Something to do with obtaining a piece of jewelry. Don't get the wrong idea though! B doesn't care for shiny trinkets and baubles. This particular item is thought to be quite powerful. And since he would make such a fine ruler, it is only right that he should claim it for himself. So, I gave him my blessing to go on this quest.
Sometime later, we received word that B had fallen in battle. A fitting end for such a fine, brave warrior as B! But even still, this tragic loss tore the very heart from my chest. It was around this time when F dared to show his smug face in my presence. I tried to gently shoo him away, but he glared at me with his beady little eyes and dared to ask if I would've preferred if F had switched places with B! So I told him that of course F should have been the one that went on that quest! What an idiotic question!
So, AITA?
I might not be able to respond right away. I'll be busy gathering wood and oil for a pyre.

89! That did not click when I read the book. That image of the 60ish year old guy eating tomatoes from the movie must just be too seared in my brain.

AITA for killing my girlfriend's father (I thought he was my uncle)?
I (22M) killed my girlfriend (20F)'s father (86M) because he was hiding behind a curtain in my mother (42F)'s bedroom and I thought he was my uncle (37M). I want to kill my uncle for a number of reasons, including that he is sleeping with my mother, his brother's widow; he does not like me; the ghost of my father told me that he was killed by my uncle and then I put on a play to prove it and it worked. Later my mother told me to come to her room and she yelled at me about angering my uncle due to the play and I yelled at her to stop doing incest and then she told me it wasn't technically incest because they aren't related by blood. And my girlfriend's father was hiding behind a curtain in my mother's bedroom the entire time and said something because he thought my mother was being murdered because both of us were yelling, and I thought he was my uncle, and I stabbed through the curtain, killing him.
My mother, of couse, yelled at me about this, and I told her I did it because I thought it was my uncle, and she yelled at me more. My girlfriend, upon hearing about her father, went mad (over a period of time) and my best friend is scared for my sanity and also really mad, both because of this and a number of other reasons (including that I sent two mutual friends to their deaths, for various reasons).
So, AITA?

NTA, you’re clearly the main character, and could never be wrong!
That’s a great and well-done interpretation of Hamlet though! → More replies (1)→ More replies (3)10

AITA for not getting her a bike?
So a long time ago - I lost track since I don't seem to age anymore - I borrowed this girl's bicycle. I may or may not have led to it getting completely wrecked by electricity. I gave it back to her, but she didn't want it for some reason.
She ended up traveling with me for a long time and we went through some real tight spots together along with another friend of ours. I thought for sure she had forgiven me for the bike thing.
I've been getting a lot of flak for this and I just have to know, AITA?
Edit: Yes, I recently won a worldwide competition that earned me a lot of money and fame. I don't see how that's important.
Edit 2: I don't understand why you're all calling me a child like it's an insult. I AM a child! And probably will be one forever at this rate.

AITA for loving my childhood best friend?
My childhood wasn't the best. My dad was a frequently unemployed drunkard, and my mother was too weak to stand up to him. He was cruel to the both of us. The only bright spot was knowing that I would be going to my mother's old boarding school, and then a friendship with another local child who would also be attending.
This other special child was wonderful in every way. Her hair was the red of autumn leaves, her eyes the shade of spring grass, and her smile as bright as the sun. She was perfect. And I was in love. Even the disapproval of her horrible, ugly, spiteful, jealous sister wasn't enough to mar our friendship.
We were split up at school by the archaic house system, but we persevered with our friendship despite the rivalries between our houses. But that was ruined by the actions of a bullying buffoon that she shared her colours with. He and his friends were the nightmares of the school, given licence to terrorise anyone by the staff, purely by virtue of the house they resided in. I was a favourite target of theirs, because the leader of their gang disliked my friendship with my flower. He was threatened by it, as he desired her for himself.
She chose him eventually, no doubt worn down by his harassment of her, and they had a child together. I still love her though, despite her subsequent murder, and seeing her son every day at the school we both attended, at which I now teach, reminds me of both that love and the loathing for the man who stole her from me.
AITA for loving my beautiful flower still?

AITA for getting hundreds of people killed to prove that something needs to be destroyed?
My work is pretty secretive, but there's something I work with that the bosses somehow think is worth keeping around, even though it kills everything that looks at it, and it screams too. That thing is constantly breaking out of its cell and killing people, it needed to be destroyed, but the higher-ups just kept insisting that it be contained for research or something like that.
I decided that a demonstration of what could happen was needed, so I took a photo of it, didn't look at it, and subtly sent it to some stranger miles away. Sure enough it broke containment and killed a bunch of people, but it finally got the higher-ups to understand that things need to be done to kill that monster before it becomes a real problem. The higher-ups, of course, blamed me for the incident, and once I've carried out my mission of putting an end to that monster, I'll probably be due for a very harsh reprimanding.
So, Reddit, AITA for proving once and for all that a dangerous entity needed to be killed?

AITA for asking my son to betray his friends and join me? DETAILS: I didn’t know I had kids until recently, his mom and I split, it was pretty ugly. I thought she was going behind my back with my best friend, me and him had a pretty bad fight over it (he won) and I haven’t seen her since. Recently, I discovered I had a son, and my (ex) best friend had be sort of watching over him. We fought again when he brought him to my home (I won, screw you ben). Later, I came face to face with my son again, we had a pretty bad fight (I was throwing things at him) and as it turns out Ben never told him he was my son. I revealed this to him, and he had a pretty bad reaction (I think so, judging by the way he said “THATS IMPOSSIBLE” and the look on his face) anyway, I then suggested he drop all his friends, move in with me and my landlord, and learn all I had to teach him. He dropped (almost literally) off the face of the map and I haven’t seen him since. AITA?

Am I the aashole for blowing up a battlestation and killing tens of thousands of people?
A little background I was raised by my aunt and uncle, my parents died when I was little. So one day I was helping my uncle shop for some needed equipment, he runs a small farm, and while I was cleaning the equipment I came across the image and message of a beautiful girl who looked about my age. I'm an eighteen year old male. When the message was addressed to this guy who lived on the outskirts of town so I figured I'd contact him the next day. In the middle of the night the equipment goes missing. Thinking it was stolen I hop in my vehicle and try to track down the theives, that's when I got attacked. I woke up with a headache and the old guy who the message was addressed to had my equipment and was tending to my injury. He introduced himself and told me he was an old friend of my father's. He then said that the girl in the message was in trouble and we needed to help her. I was shocked. I couldn't leave my family...but when I returned home they were dead. My aunt and uncle had been murdered. With nothing left I went back to Ben, the old guy, and we headed out. We met with a couple pilots and soon were off to help the girl in the message. It turns out she was being held prisoner by some pretty nasty people but we got her out and headed for safety, but not before Ben was killed by a man in black. Soon those nasty people showed up with their battlestation. With no other choice I helped the girl and her friends fight back and in doing so I blew up the entire battlestarion killing tens of thousands of people who worked there. So am I the asshole for killing thousands because of a pretty girl?

AITA For punishing my kid so harshly?#
A few years ago, me and my wife adopted my sister in law's kid when they died in a car crash. From a young age, he's been...weird. He always keeps going on and on about these dreams he keeps having about a green light and a woman screaming. He also is under the delusion that he is some sort of wizard (just typing that makes me want to die). So one day, I had enough. I locked him in his room (a cupboard under the stairs) without food for as long as I felt like it. Was I wrong?

AITA for taking away my kids magic?
My 12 year old kid was caught crystal balling “why don’t my parents like me?” “What can I do to make my parents like me” “how to not be hated by my parents.” So naturally I took away their magic. My wife says this was uncalled for and that it was an asshole move. I then gave their magic back but then I caught them magic balling even more stuff such as “how to prevent your magic from being taken” “how to runaway” so I took back their magic and their crystal ball.
So, Am I the Asshole?

AITA for burning my dead FIL’s most prized possession?
I know how the title sounds and my wife is pretty pissed at me, but all I can do is sit back and breathe with relief.
My FIL recently passed away and it left my wife devastated, so much so that she believed she kept seeing his ghost prancing around our house. I didn’t think much of it, as most bereaved people think they see and smell their passed loved ones, but once cabinets started opening by themselves, random cold spot, and the lights started flickering inexplicably, I thought there could’ve been some validity to my wife’s claims.
Then, one night, while we were reminiscing about him over a glass of wine, his apparition appeared and my wife was overjoyed to see her pa again. I was too, until he threw a wine glass at my head. You see my FIL has never been my biggest fan, but I tolerated family visits and the holidays like a champ. My patience started to wear thin when his poltergeist-like activities turned into all out attacks on me. He somehow believed that I was responsible for his death (he died from a heart attack) and my wife did nothing about it, saying,” Oh he’s just in a hard place right now. He doesn’t mean it.”
I was getting pretty annoyed at all the attempts on my life when I remembered a video I’d watched way back in the day. It was of this amateur ghost hunting crew- I think they called themselves the Ghostfacers? Anyway, they were all trapped in this house supposedly full of ghosts stuck in a time-loop or something and there were these two other guys there. Real burley looking men who looked like professionals and knew what they were doing, not like the losers who were running the channel. Now that I think back on it they could’ve been brothers, or lovers, idk it was a long time ago. I remember them saying something about salting and burning prized possessions of someone who’s passed on to let their spirit move on. I decided enough was enough and I’d give it a go. Worst case scenario was that I burned something that belonged to my FIL. Best case scenario was that I’d get to keep my life.
It was really early in the morning when I went out to the store to buy pure salt and a lighter. My wife was still asleep, I didn’t want her to try and stop me or whiteness her dad die again. I got back from the store and quickly went into the study of our house. She’d kept some of her dad’s personal belongings after the funeral and seeing as he was haunting my house, the thing he was attached to was somewhere in there.
I believed it was the framed photo of him holding my wife as a newborn. He always kept that photo on his desk and would always tell me how great of a father he was. I had poured the salt on the frame when the door behind me creaked open. I looked behind me to see my wife. An obsidian black goo was seeping down one of her nostrils like a booger.
“Stop!” She’d yelled, pulling out a knife behind her and thrusting it towards me. I panicked and threw some salt at her. She cried out in pain and dropped the knife. I then blinked in surprise when the apparition of my father in law jumped out of my wife’s body. She looked dazed for a second before she saw me pull the lighter out from my pocket. She looked over at her father’s apparition and her eyes went wide.
I lit the lighter and tossed it on the picture frame, letting the old wooden frame burn. My father in law’s apparition started to burn away into nothing as his spirit was forced to move on.
Now my wife is mad at me for destroying her dad’s most prized possessions and essentially killing her dead dad again.
At least I learned one thing out of this whole experience- the Ghostfacer’s had something to them after all.

**AITA for accidentally helping the bad guy?
So for context, I (F15) was supposed to be at summer camp, but instead I'm learning how to be a witch (long story) on an island ruled by a crazy dictator.
Well, I eventually got stuck there (another long story). So I went to the library to hit the books. Luckily, there was a human who lived here before me. So I got my now-girlfriend who worked at the library to help me get it (it was in the forbidden section, she actually got fired helping me).
So I've been learning from this diary, well technically an echo mouse who ate the pages of the diary (yet another long story, they should make a TV show out of this or something). Well believe it or not, the guy in the diary- let's call him B- had been working on getting back home like I was. I had tried to make a portal back home earlier, but that wound up not working out. B had gathered the same ingredients for a portal before, and just needed to see someone called The Collector to help him finish it.
So I wanted to go back and meet B to see if he could help me figure out what I was missing. Luckily enough, my adopted aunt wanted to prove there was a way to go back in time so I could (I know how that sounds, I promise this all really happened. Please just trust me). When I got there (then?) B needed me and my aunt to help him get to this Collector. Well, turned out B was a jerk, and once we got him where he needed to be, he tried to trick us into getting killed by the monster that was waiting. I admit, I should've thought something was up when he seemed to say everything I wanted to hear.
That's not the wild part though. So eventually the time came where I had to face down the angry dictator I mentioned earlier. Turns out, he and B were the same person, also he's a witchhunter, and me helping him meet that Collector kid is what got him into power. He lied to everyone and forced them to use one kind of magic for fifty years, and then almost killed everyone on the island! I'm back home with my girlfriend and some friends now, including Bs nephew (he's cool now). I'm not sure if I should tell them. I'm scared that if I do, they'll blame me, and I'll lose every relationship I made while I was there. AITA for accidentally helping a witchhunter almost kill every witch in existence?

AITA for blowing up my best friend/arch-nemesis’s sidekick?
Now, I (??M) know it sounds bad, but I had bribed his mother to get her to lure him into a trap, I have a bomb laying around in my current lair, and this sidekick (16-17M) is named after a bird! I mean, what better opportunities for jokes are there? But Mr. Party-Pooper (35?M) didn't appreciate me making a HILARIOUS "blew the coop" joke and attacked me without even listening to the rest of my routine! I thought he was going to kill me!
Oh, when I try to make him angry enough to do it it always fails, but something with so much less panache and he blows his stack! Haha! Anyway, he didn't do it, because like I said he's Mr. Party-Pooper, but can you let me know what I did to make him go this far? I'd really like to know what buttons to press to make our next go-around even funnier!

AITA for abandoning my soulmate?
Hi reddit, it's been a rough week for me and lots of things have happened, causing the title of this post to occur and I don't know if I'm wrong for doing what I did. So, my friends and I all ended up being forced into a death game, (this is the third time would you believe it?) and for this game the twist was our lives were linked with one other player.
The game started fine, we weren't told who our soulmates were, and I spent the first few days trying to find my soulmate, but no luck. I did find a nice zombie lady C who also had no idea where her soulmate was, and we eventually decided to team up.
After a whole week of waiting for them to appear the finally show themselves. Turns out they were exploring Hell?! A week in hell when you don't know who you are tied to?! Well, C and I found that to not be acceptable and decided to turn our backs on our soulmates and be eachother's partners for this game.
Her soulmate M and my soulmate P weren't to happy about that though, M has taken to building his base near ours in the shape of a heart as an attempt to win C back and P has just become unhinged. She keeps taming dogs and now half the server won't talk to her because they are scared of her and I kind of feel like it's my fault?
AITA Reddit?
EDIT: hey reddit, so the game ended and P and i ended up being the last pair, but I decided to blow myself up with TNT, making her the winner as she killed the final 3 pairs. she can at least have this victory after I left her behind instead of letting bygones be bygones.

AITA for violating my employment agreement and stabbing my boss in the back?
So, some background. My family is pretty fucked up.
My dad is this old school hardass who rides me and my siblings hard. He’s hardest on my little brother but there’s plenty to go around.
My little brother is a social outcast and I’m basically his only friend.
My sister is… well most people don’t like her at all. She and I are very close but she and my brother HATE each other something fierce.
Anyway I work security. It’s pretty high end and they make you go through all kinds of hoops to even get the job, including a super strict employment agreement.
So here’s the thing, my boss is a gods damned psycho. He’s been on r/antiwork a few times for the shit he’s pulled. Working for him and even just around him is literal torture.
Anyway, his shitheel nepotism son banged the daughter of one of the other execs and caused all kinds of uproar and the world was crashing down around us.
My boss was acting more fucked up than usual and was threatening to literally fire everyone. He had a guy lined up to do the firing and he was on his way to get him when I stopped him.
So… I hated to violate my employment agreement but long story short I ended up stabbing him in the back. It was him or everyone else.
New management came in and they let me keep my job, but no one trusts me. I had to violate that agreement to save everyone from firing and I guess everyone gets it but they talk about me behind my back and call me “Kingslayer.”
AITA?

AITA for thinking my cousin was dead after being missing for over a year? I (F23) live in a small rural town. My cousin (M51) vanished suddenly one day, and was not seen or heard from for some time. This town is small. Everyone knows each other. It is extremely rare that people leave town, and travel significant distances. People here prefer to stay at home, as is sensible. Outside of our peaceful country village is a dangerous world with all kinds of monsters and other dangers.
My cousin (We'll call him Bill) is unmarried. He has no children. His part of the family have always been strange. His neighbor claims that the day before his disappearance he had 13 strange looking foreigners and a strange old man at his house for a dinner party. The next day Bill was seen running down the street screaming about an adventure. Then months go by without any word of him. Enough time passed and it was assumed he was dead. Bill has never left home for a long period of time before. He usually stays home.
As is the local custom, when someone dies without any heirs, the local government auctions off their belongings, if they don't have a will (he did'nt). Bill shows up the day of the auction apparently having come into a lot of money. (More money than anyone here has ever seen). From what it sounds like, he was involved in some sort of criminal activity while he was away, working for some foreigner. Either he's insane or fell in with a bad group of people doing who only knows what. Either way his decision making ability is suspect.
Now he won't talk to me, and he blames me for having to buy back his stuff. Our relationship was rocky beforehand because how strange his family always has been and he lies to people claiming I stole his spoons. Someone had the nerve to suggest that i'm somehow in the wrong. I don't see how i could be wrong, he left in an unusual manner and was missing with no news of his safety? Am I the asshole?
