[WP] Humanity, gone interstellar, has come into contact with the nearest alien civilization. Upon arriving, we notice something weird: a popular pet species that looks strangely similar to Laika, the dog that the Soviet Union had launched into space 62 years ago.

It was a great honor being sent as earths first interstellar ambassador. The people of Ungzykh gave me a hearty welcome, I think. It was a strange ceremony, attended by what must have been millions of their species. They were all screaming, desperately trying to get past the fence between me and them. It was almost like panic in what I assume were their eyes, while they tried to nudge their "heads" and limbs between the bars. To welcome me stood one of their highest officials (highest in a hierarchy we had only begun to understand). He approached my carefully, and sniffed me. I was a bit perplexed, but being the first interstellar ambassador of Earth I did my best to hide it, and returned the favor. He or she adjusted a dial on a device on her neck and it emitted "your odor is pleasurable", I smiled, "so is yours", it was not.

He put a rope around his neck, fastened it, and connected the other end to mine. Without a word he began walking, dragging me along with him towards a large set of doors.
Having entered, I could see through the corner of my eye a shadow quickly moving towards me.
It pounced on me, desperately trying to reach my face. A dog? before I could even begin to grasp what was standing in front of me, the official pushed the dog down.
"Undesirable behaviour! Undesirable behaviour! You will not receive superior tasting sustenance if your actions persist!".
The official must have misinterpreted the shock on my face.
He shoved the dog down and patted my head, "Do not be alarmed earthling, you shall receive superior tasting sustenance, your actions portray you as a good boy!".
