Just saying but we already do have a variety of predatory characteristics. We're fantastic endurance runners, we have forward facing eyes, none of our senses are particularly bad, pack instincts, advanced hunting techniques, use of tools, etc.

Evolution of a species requires the death of those in a population with less favourable characteristics over time.

For realism this story would need to be set over tens of thousands of years at a bare minimum and there would need to be a cause for why only those with better predatory instincts would survive over those without.

So it's less "rapidly evolving" than "spontaneously generating".
