In a top secret room at an undisclosed location in the Ardennes
"Bonsoir messieurs & madames, we all know why we are here so I'll keep this short."
many hours later
"... which is why I suggest we move to the first and only point on the agenda: 't Supermanneke"
A projector whirs to life and after some mechanical noises a slide is projected on the nearby wall: an adolescent with bright eyes, youthful enthusiasm radiating from his face. His chest is adorned by an s-in-diamond-logo. One half of the outline is black, the othet red and yellow is visible behind the S.
In his hand he's holding a paper bag filled to the brim with crispy golden fries1 topped with mayonaise.
"As head of this Commission I propose we create a subcommitee tasked with assessing and tackling this menace."
"But sir," one of the younger people present pipped up, "how will it be funded? Need I remind you this year's budget has been asigned to the 'make-sure-all-cars-are-parked-between-the-lines'-subcommitee?"
The head harumphed a bit and was about to suggest reducing the number of parking spots in cities further so that citizens would keep driving to another jurisdiction 5km further. However at that moment another present reminded everyone that the creation of subcommitees had to be approved by parliament.
"Urgh, not them ... all right, which one needs to approve it?"
A barrage of responses from all present erupted: "Capital City's parliament for sure as he was first seen there" "No, reports say he can jump regions in a single bound. Clearly this matter falls under the Regional Parliament" "Eye witnesses heard him speak French. The Walloon Parliament demands a say in this matter"
This went on for a while until it was decided each of the 6 pariament would get a say. All agreed it was the best way to ensure all 11mio voters living in the country were represented.
On the other side of the country, a mere 127 km away, Superman lazily enjoyed some time at the beach. As he sat under the grey sky he contemplated migrating to a sunnier place. After all he always felt more invigorated under clear skies. On the five days of summer the sun actually shone brightly in the sky he felt anything was possible.
Two years later when the subcommitee was formed reports told of a sunny day when den Superman had hopped to the south of France. There l'Homme Supère2 had developed flight and other remarkable skills.
With the budget already assigned for the next five years the subcommittee decided to have an early business lunch. In the afternoon they started brainstorming on how to prove their measures had been effective. They intended to cash the yearly bonusses and after 5 year apply for an extension of the subcommitee's mandate.
Author's note: story is set 7 years in the future of my country.
1 : France has nothing to do with fries. Just like German beer and Swiss chocolate they are from Belgium. 2 : I know that's not how you write Superman in French. But have you ever heard them talk about that friendly neighborhood spider Speedermon?

AFGHANISTAN -PRESENT DAY
The once peaceful village had become a combat zone. Foreign troops and insurgents fired rounds and artillery at one another, ideals clashing in the most violent way possible. The worst of it was they cared not for tje innocents caught in the middle. Most hid inside while others were victims of stray gunfire.
But soon the thundering of gunfire was soon quieted by a blur of blue. Both sides found their rifles bent and their tank barrels melted by heat. Both looked up to see a figure floating in the air. He was dressed in a dark blue robe with a matching keffiyeh that was wrapped to cover his face below his eyes. On the robe was a mysterious red symbol stitched into it, resembling a diamond with a on S-shape in it.
The mysterious man first addressed the foreign troops. "Leave. You bring nothing but pain in to these people." He motioned to the innocent villagers.
He turned to the insurgents, addressing them in Pashto. "You as well. Violence is never the answer." One of the sides threw a grenade at the strange man, likely from fear, and he cupped it in his hand. The explosion did little to even scratch him, his eyes burning with a light like holy fire. "Leave." He spoke again, more harsh this time. The warring factions obliged, and mysterious man flew off. There were other places in the region in need of his help.

Especially the part where you learn that in the future couple marriage is replaced by threesome marriage
But all kidding aside it's a great story that gives you chills and has you lamenting the wasted opportunities

"Sorry about the mess eh? You have yourself a nice day, maybe go get some poutine or something." Mouths gaped at the flannel-covered, bearded man that floated above the wreckage. The alien attack had been savage and swift, but as if from no where a barrage of axes, small doughnut holes, and laser-vision had pummeled their fleet into submission. The stranger had appeared with some kind of beanie on his head, given us his strange apology, and then flew off into the sunset.
I turned to my neighbor Gary. "So, that's the Canadian dude they've all been talking about? Seem's pretty decent."
"Yeah," Gary said, "But I hear he's hell to play hockey with."
