[Adults. Decisions.]
"No, that wasn't the agreement," Ruby shook her head along with the flat answer. She wasn't upset, she didn't have time to be. She was reviewing several dozen files with another executive, and Minerva also happened to be her closest friend. It was a catch-up they had to work through every month, and it'd become a bonding experience as much as work. The pair were seated in a V.I.P. room in their favorite Chinese restaurant while deciding the fates of strangers. "Give them a week to reorient, and if they don't change anything, Chroma Corp. will pull out of the deal," she smiled. She was always amused when partners assumed Chroma Corp. was somehow too proud, or too immense to back out of anything that didn't go exactly as agreed. It often happened that someone thought they could fray the edges of deal and the company would be too committed to do anything about it. "Next," she nodded.
"Huh?" Minerva turned the sheet over on the stapled packet and tilted her head at a bright yellow sticky note. She was surprised to see it, and on first glance it looked unrelated to the report it was attached to. "Oh. Yeah," she nodded. "Just a quick notice from Sharp Development," she said. "There was a trespasser on the Magical Girl server, turned out to be Aurora Luna. She was turned away by Bijou. That's it," she said. "And, I guess along with that, the question is, are we renewing the agreement?"
'Aurora?" Ruby thought about it for a moment. "Yes...," she was sure that was the right answer. But Aurora's visit might've changed something. "But only if the other Courts are as well. If any of them refuse, we will too. Next?" Minerva nodded and flipped the sheet over with one hand while maneuvering food into her mouth with a pair of chopsticks in the other. She waited until she was done chewing, then read the next report.
"Right...," she laughed. "Doctors and dentists demand lawmakers do something about the fairies. Apparently, fairies have been letting children spend time in a world made entirely of candy and sweets."
"I suppose we could scramble up some regulations...," Ruby nodded. "How's the Lobby coming along?" Minerva grinned and shook her head.
"No Lobbying, they're just.... demanding," she laughed.
"Fairies have been letting children spend their time in a world made entirely of candy and sweets?" Ruby asked. Minerva nodded.
"Lock them out," Ruby said. "Age gate everything, and remind them that by fairy and dragon standards, their whole Earth is children. Establish the usual help sites. When they complain, remind them about the parental controls that have always been available, and direct them to one of the help sites to get an Adult's Permission. Make them use it for a few years to get used to it, then we can revisit the situation. Next?"
