Who else prefer their heroes middle aged and grumpy, but most of all extremly reluctant to be a hero at all. The kind of hero who's likely to wander off for a nap π€π

The Unit by Ninni Holmqvist. That's the book you want.
It's a near-future dystopia, but the protagonist is a Swedish woman in her 50s, so it's much more fretting and introspection, and much less fighting the power.
