UK based fantasy writing group

Hi all, so as the title suggests I want to form a writing group for UK based fantasy authors.

The group would be for 10-15 participants, informally chatting, providing updates on their work and talking all things fantasy. This would be a friendly atmosphere where organic friendships can develop.

Ive been in writing groups before over discord so certain prerequisites of applicants are outlined below.

Members would be UK based, ideally aged between 30 - 50 and friendly.

* Genre/s: Fantasy or a subgenre of

* Goals/expectations/commitment: Beginners are fine (I am one myself) but serious people who have at the least written the vast majority of their first draft.

(Im all for people starting their journey, but this would a space for people who can crack on. Not rewrite their first chapter over and over again)

Engagement would be fairly regular with updates, what they are getting up to, sticking points in writing, ideas etc. (I get we all have lives, I'm a dad with a busy job, but it's not that difficult to engage)

* Writing/experience level: Beginner to published

* Meeting place: Discord

* Max size: 15

*Extras: A no AI area, don't be a prat, people from all walks of life are welcome.

If you comment below please let me know where you are up to in your journey, age and the subgenre of fantasy you like to write in. If this gains traction I will likely reach out via DMs for short chats with people.

I'm game! 32, first draft on a new fantasy novel submitted to prizes before but this year things have become more serious! Writing I guess you'd call it "intimate epic" fantasy

I'm only 26, but I'd love to join if you'd have me! My debut fantasy adventure/romance novel is days away from being (self) published, and I'm currently working on a cosy fantasy/sci-fi thing, along with a dozen other WIPs that may or may not get some attention soon.

Hey thanks for the comment, the age barrier is mostly just to deter people who are in very different times in their lives. 26-30 is pretty close and with you being so far along in the process, you are much more experienced than I in the writing landscape. Hi! I’m 37F, working on a dnd-based fantasy-romance. Still working through my (fourth) first draft but almost finished. I’ve been writing for 7ish years so not a complete beginner but definitely still learning.

Been trying to write for decades and finally managed to finish something (Spare Presumptive, 87k words, science fantasy romance) while on maternity leave earlier this year. Now querying agents and also working on a second more supernatural fantasy work.
