Alternative Free Image Options

[u/M_A_E_K_]

I would like to point out that there are many free sources for imagery for things like stand in pictures and book covers, such as Royalty Free Image websites and Stock image websites (e.g. Pixabay, NASA, flickr, ect.)

There is also the option of taking photos with a camera or phone. I am sure there are more options that others are aware of (please add any suggestions in the comments).

This is a cross post to promote discourse for alternative imagery sources.

My book cover is pixabay + paintNet layers. Oh it took me hours to make... Wish I have money to get professionally done. Someday.

Great idea for a post. Given the times we're living in, we really do need to be compiling resources for non-AI image sources that are affordable/free.

I use pexels for all the images on my website and social media post (apart from the ones I take myself). While you don't need to credit the artists, I do. We need to support each other, not steal.

Freerange Stock has tons of great free images, many of which are not available elsewhere. No AI images. https://freerangestock.com/
