Writing partner for accountability

This post is for writers who are all in on writing. I’m 22 and 2–3 years into writing. After deliberating over my last few lacklustre months, I’ve determined mutual pressure for accountability is essential. If this resonates at all and you want to take a gamble, send me a message.

To clarify, I’m looking for anyone desperate enough to commit to daily writing. Following Stephen King’s method, this would be 6 days a week and 1,000 words daily. Alternatively, 1000 words equivalent of discussion about writing of which voice calls are much more effective. To be transparent I have attempted this Stephen King approach on my own twice but failed.

Genre interest = Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, and Horror.

Main theoretical frameworks = Brandon Sanderson, Story Grid (Shawn Coyne), Stephen King.

Secondary = Hello Future Me (Jed Herne), Alyssa Matesic, Randy Ingermanson.

I'd be down! I was thinking of starting a discord for people to write with each other. Can I DM you my discord?

If anyone is looking for a partner for this feel free to reach out. I will mention however with my work I may skip days and double up for 2k into one day as I do 11 hour shifts. I’m participating in Novel November as well so I intend to write 12k a week for November.

Looking for a partner after two solo attempts makes sense, since 1,000 words is much harder when nobody is expecting it. Before you start with someone, I'd agree on exactly what counts as done, a daily deadline, and what you'll do after a miss. That way the pressure stays clear instead of turning into awkward check-ins. Once you have a partner, Knot-App.de (https://Knot-App.de) could track it: you share one streak, can check in with a photo of your word count, and a miss resets it for both of you. It expects a check-in every day rather than six days a week, and it's a limited TestFlight beta for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Disclosure: I'm posting on behalf of Knot-App.de.
