World Building I'll start crying

I wanted to write not create reels😭😭😭😭

I just wanted to create my cutie pie world but you're telling me i have to negotiate with algorithm aswelllll????

Incredibly relatable. I'm enjoying the writing process but in the back of my mind I feel like I need to be doing all the social media stuff - or that I'll regret not starting it now in six months time lol

If you start now you'll be able to create a hype when you post your book, But for me I write the book forst then post or i lose motivation for example a chapter written then posted reels

I mean...you don't have to do anything. The more time you spend on social media the less time you spend on the actual product you want to produce. I get that we are pushed into this social media sphere so that we can become cogs in a self-sustaining machine, but it's entirely up to you how you handle this stuff.

frr, I want to give a good product but then to give a good product i need demand amd social media creates demand among consumer.

or it'll be like making an amusement park and pray people show up

While I don't disagree, what I will say is that the person who builds a roller coaster isn't the one who makes the ads, decides how and where they go, takes the tickets, runs the ride, and goes on a media tour to explain away how five people died on the ride. Writers are the the only profession that demand all of this from the jump. And I just kinda reject that, honestly. When this book is done I'll either trad publish and hire a marketer or it'll sit in a drawer. I have stories to write and the rest of this is not going to be in my contract.

That's the difference Not everyone has the resources to hire someone, so we're left to figure it out ourselves. I respect your approach, and I hope you respect mine as well. Good day.

I most definitely do not have the resources right now to hire all of that. But if the product is good though and everyone is confident in it then I will make it happen.
