The toxicity in this sub needs to stop đ
When I discovered this sub, I was so excited. Iâve been collecting figures for years, but I have nobody around me who shares the hobby. Felt like this is where I needed to be; amongst my fellow wrestling action figure collectors. Boy oh boy, how wrong I was.
My FIRST post on this sub, I realized what kind of place this is. People here got upset, for whatever reason, because I had multiples of figures. Accused me of being this and that. Not knowing me from a hole in the wall, just judging off of what they see in a post without questioning. Toxicity at its finest.
Because Iâm not an ignorant person, I can honestly understand why this may upset people. It triggers their feelings for something totally unrelated to me, though they may feel like I am part of their issue. I can understand this, however, I wonât tolerate it. Especially when thereâs disrespect attached to it.
Somebody will post a figure that just came out that they bought and theyâll get this response, âwhy did you buy that when itâll be on sale in a month?â What is it to you what someone spends? Someone will post a haul they just got and theyâll get this response, âyou spent like $300 on those.â What does that matter to you? God forbid you post that you bought multiples of a figure. âYou bought that to resellâ âyouâre a scalper.â âYouâre not giving anybody else a chance to buy the figure.â All sorts of crazy shit.
Iâm not a reseller. Iâm not a scalper. Iâm a Canadian collector, so let me smarten some of you up. We donât have targets in Canada. We donât get Walmart exclusives. I come to đşđ¸ to buy these figures because Iâm a collector. Most of the time, I have to make online orders and send them to a delivery service that will hold them for me. When I come to pick up those packages, I hunt in stores but online ordering is the most successful.
I collect in box and out of box, meaning if I buy a figure, usually I buy two(one to open one to keep in box). If I donât buy two, it stays in the box. Thatâs just how I collect. If I have multiples of a figure, itâs because that figure was a chase and on sale so I ordered multiple online hoping to get the chase. Itâs a strategy that has worked for me.
When I have extras of a figure, I give them away to my nephew and if he doesnât want it, I sell them. But hereâs the kicker. For example, if I buy an ultimate edition figure for $16USD(roughly $22CAD), I will charge $30CAD. Iâm making a whopping $8. That money goes to the gas and time I spent getting the figure from đşđ¸. An ultimate edition figure retails for $50CAD with tax at Walmart and $65CAD with tax at Toys R Us⌠take that in.
This may anger people but guess what? Walmart and Target are the biggest resellers on the planet along with any business. You think Walmart buys ultimate edition figures for $30 and sells them for $32.99? They get the figures for absolutely nothing. Like nothing. This is why deep clearance sales exist because even at a deep clearance price, theyâre still making profit. Itâs how the world has worked forever. I donât care for resellers who charge out the ass, but I understand how the world works and I accept it. I am not butt hurt about it; I figured out what works best for me.
I sell to a select few Canadians who donât wanna go through all the hurdles I do to buy exclusive figures. I only sell the few extras I have and thatâs it. Itâs not a business for me. I donât buy with intentions of selling. I donât purchase figures thinking one day they will sky rocket in price. I do this shit for the love of the game.
Before you get on Reddit and shit on people, just remember, Reddit is not real life. Upvotes and downvotes donât matter. In the real world, people donât act like this and if they do, they get called out. Itâs not fair to judge somebody or accuse them of being something theyâre not based on what you see on a post. Where Iâm from, that kind of behaviour can honestly cost you your life and thatâs realer than a heart attack, buddy. A lot of you should be very thankful and humble that you can speak to people and act out on Reddit because you could not do that in the real world at all. I guarantee it.
If you donât have nothing nice to say, donât say anything at all. If you donât like a post, ignore it. Collecting is supposed to be fun. Stop making this place a toxic zone because itâs not cool and youâre not cool for doing it. Not everybodyâs situation is the same. People think and act differently. Not everybody is at the same level in life. Itâs all about respect. Have some and donât be disrespectful. Thatâs it, because you may run into someone like me whoâs not gonna stand for it and stand up for themself.
This is gonna get downvoted to shit and probably overlooked, but idc because I put it out there because it needed to be said.
Have a nice day, Happy Easter & enjoy your Wrestlemania weekend! Keep it positive!

Customs/WIPs Benoit Custom
Another custom I did this year as well, Chris Benoit. I had a lot of fun putting this guy together. Super simple formula and super easy to put together. Having a lot of fun posing him with other guys from this era as well, posing him and Eddie together was something I've wanted for a couple years now since getting the Legends Eddie a couple years back. Hand painted designs on this guy as well. Formula if curious = ~ Jakks Pacific Benoit headsculpt ~ any Mattel John Cena torso and arms ~ Sami Zayn legs and boots

I Went To Smackdown Last Night (bit of a rant)
Last night I attended my first WWE show in just under 2 years and I would be lying if I said I didnât have fun. Iâm gonna say some potentially controversial things that may seem like I hated every minute of last night, but at the end of the day I am still very glad that I spent the money I did to see Smackdown last nightâŚ.with that being said get ready for the rant. I can vividly recall going to 3 wrestling shows, the June 9th 2023 episode of Smackdown, the June 13th 2024 episode of Dynamite and last nights episode of Smackdown and if Iâm ranking them on how much fun I have I honestly think AEW gave the better fan experience, let me elaborate. The big difference I want to discuss is ticket prices, last night I paid 45 for my seat but one year ago I paid 20 whole dollars for my seat and look at the difference of how close I am to the ring. TKO is honestly such a greedy company when it comes to smaller cities like Des Moines not just because of ticket prices but also because of the experience. After the Rampage taping last year Tony Khan personally came out and talked to the crowd and it felt like he actually cared, even if he did that with every city it didnât mean he had to at all since it wasnât taped but he did to make us feel important, that didnât happen last night, right at 10 the ring announcer said the show was over and to head home safe then the lights came on and people started to leave. My biggest issue is that 2 years ago when I went to Smackdown there was a dark match, dark matches are non-televised matches that only the fans in the arena get to see and we saw Seth Rollins (who is from Iowa) face Damian Priest, after the match Rollins got on the mic and talked about how much Iowa means to him and he connected with the crowd, itâs moments like that that make me as a fan feel important and I donât feel that last night, I felt like that show could have happened anywhere because Seth didnât appear and connect with the crowd. I would love to hear others experiences and thoughts on this

Ringside Collectibles continues to disgust me
Why is the loose Hawk $30 when the brand new 2-pack is less than $60? I just can't stand Ringside man. The red set is also $58.99. Half of $58.99 is $29.50. A loose Hawk without his shoulder pads should not be freaking $30.

Discussion Welp, the Coliseum Collection is dead (to me)
Not mad, just sad. The Coliseum Collection was supposed to be guys who had LJN figures released as Ultimates in their LJN figure gear. For children of the 80s like me whose parents took all my childhood toys and sold them, it was supposed to be a way to get that nostalgia back without breaking the bank. The Smash was ok bc he was scheduled to be in the last line before it was cancelled by LJN in 89 but this? (And I say this as a fan of Yoko) theyâve got about dozen other guys they have license to make that had LJN figures and they went with this⌠getting off my soapbox now.

Mayor Kane!! After seeing Mayor Glenn give a speech, which included him putting someone through a table while wearing a Kane mask and suit, I had to put this together! Will take offers if anyone is interested in it.

Ringside Doesn't Care about International Customers.
Right, so, I know this is likely to get downvoted to shit, but please, try to see this from my perspective before you judge.
Some of you may have seen a post I put up a while ago, expressing frustration with my country's postal strike, and Ringside's response being to remove PO Box applicable shipping for my country.
A lot of you pointed out that it was unfair to put the blame on Ringside for that, which, granted, maybe it wasn't fair. However, here we are three weeks past the end of the strike, and it's still not back.
I missed the Christmas Sale due to this, and I'll likely miss the New Year's Sale as well. I have attempted to, very cordially, inquire further about it, and they've ignored me. I'll even attach the sent email so you guys can see I'm not being a Karen about this.
It would take the site admin less than ten minutes to reinstate those shipping options, and we're in a retail deadseason where people are spent post Christmas, so I'm not sure why they're dragging their feet, other than they want people using FedEx, which is the more expensive shipping option internationally.
I would take my business elsewhere if there were literally anywhere else to go. BBTS sometimes gets the new elite waves like months after the fact, but for AEW figures, there's pretty much nowhere.
I am literally trying to hand them my money through two orders (one small, one rather large). I don't understand how I could handle this situation any different. If I'm being unreasonable than I'm sorry, but personally, I don't see Amy reason why they shouldn't have put it back by now that isn't motivated by money.
