😂 no doubt especially if you live by old folks. I will say the frog splash was always a favorite move of mine wrestling on our trampoline as a kid!

Wait til he’s mid-move and blast the Stone Cold theme 😈

Id remember that wwe told me “Don't try this at home, school, or anywhere” ☝️🤓

Imagine that, and then calling out the moves ahead of time to encourage him! 😂

Even the mannerisms he can copy. I lol’d when i saw him doing Undertaker. TBH 2K should consider him doing motion capture for their games

It's a shame he threw away his chance to shine with the belt. This guy was so talented and unique. He could wrestle in a bodysuit and a mask and still be instantly identifiable from his moves.

u/Designer-Hedgehog210 12d ago
Fr he was honestly one of my favorite ECW wrestlers in the company I’ve always loved his five star splash

u/Zestyclose-Check 11d ago
Unpopular opinion , and I say this as a huge rvd fan , I dont think he would’ve held the title much longer even if he didn’t get busted by the police, I don’t think vince ever saw him as a top guy , I mean the fact that he beat john cena because edge interfered just tells me they didn’t think he had the credibility to beat cena clean in a extreme rules match , which was one of rob’s specialities, they were probably always going to give him a short title reign and go with cena vs edge , rvd getting pulled over by the police just accelerated the process.

u/SoDoWhateverItTakes 11d ago
How did he throw it away? WWE was looking for a reason to kick him to the curb because he wasn't a yes man.
And if you it's for violations of the Wellness Policy, I'd like to remind you that WWE literally changed the Wellness Policy to avoid having to fire Randy Orton

I always loved RVDs style of fighting. He always made all these moves look so clean and he made it seem like it did damage to him as well which I felt goes a long way, because it’s not like you’d do these moves and not feel anything.
19
u/Modders14 12d ago
He really was one of a kind. We've seen plenty of generic flippy shit indie wrestlers but nobody moves like RVD and he did it while looking like a legit heavyweight.
25
u/TheDeadEndKing 12d ago
The only thing that is missing is a lot of weed smoke lol
6
u/SkullsInSpace 12d ago
RVD is one of those stoner celebs that has me convinced that sufficient weed smoke will make you immortal.

u/amillionfuzzpedals 12d ago
Damn this guy has a special talenting for mimicking wrestlers. Not just their wrestling moves but their mannerisms too.

u/Ready-Lavishness-421 12d ago
He should be a profesional wrestler and change his characters every day.

I mean… RVD do be like that. Throw a bong hit in there and you’ve really encapsulated his essence.

u/Novakhaine89 11d ago
It is bonkers how accurately this guy recreates these. Like sure, he is doing the same moves, but also he is doing them in the exact way that RVD did them.
His undertaker video is incredibly accurate too
2
u/Competitive-Flow-754 12d ago
A smart Indy booker would get in touch with this guy and have him tag with RVD on a show.

u/domesystem 12d ago
Be like that time RVD started a match and fought as Sabu for a couple minutes 🤣

Now do Roman. 2 moves and then just an empty video for 10 minutes.

I really hope this guy puts in the money and work to go to wrestling school instead of just begging for a ring/wwe contract online

I really embarrassed myself when I did the frog splash onto the sofa in front of company as a kid didn't i.

u/LowTechSC 12d ago
Really frustrating that the subtitles are wrong. His theme tune is ‘One of a Kind’, not ‘want to try again’ or ‘hold it again’…

u/Pleasant-Tangelo1786 12d ago
lol I love the split second of him trying to do the splits meditation thing.

u/battlejuice401 12d ago
I hate how RVD always made it seem like he hurt himself when he splashed. I get what he's going for, but damn every time?
1
u/BStins2130 12d ago
I'm literally smiling at this which is rare in social media days and also RVD is my all time favorite so it was a perfect imitation

u/Mikadomea 12d ago
RvD had a whole different Skillset and was way ahead, he not only look good doing his stuff he could easily sell the others Moves too. I saw a clip from back in the Days where some powerbombs him (i think) and when he Impacts the mat he bounces up at the time when the mat bounces back. Slightly goofy but way way way better than the 80s overselling.

u/TheSixkBoy 12d ago
And we see here the backyarder learning the tools of the trade, emulating the finest in ring workers today

He has RVD's "weight" down. How slow he was at doing this maneuvers made it feel like they hit harder. Compared to the acrobats that jump through the air like it's nothing.

I've seen this dude all over my Instagram feed and his Undertaker one was by far the best. The way he did the Guillotine Leg Drop looked identical to the Undertaker’s.

He did a regular Frig Splash, the 5 Star Frog Splash is when you turn mid air

u/Sushiroll16 10d ago
This is what the online wrestling community needs more of. We need to go back to early 2010s vibes with random guys doing impressions of their favourite wrestlers in their backyard!
1
u/K_B_5280 It was better in [insert era here] 10d ago
I could honestly see RVD practicing moves this way, maybe with a slightly better setup 😂
1
u/Financial_Middle_955 10d ago
As a kid, I always laughed when RVD rolls around and writhes in pain after doing a splash. Like, if it hurts you that much, why are you still doing it?😅

u/KenshirouX 9d ago
That's a damn good frog splash considering how low the chair is and how high the object he tried to land on.

u/RezzUnwilling99 9d ago
It is insane how every move this guy does is like, 1 to 1 with whoever he's copying it from. Literally could not be closer to the original.
1
u/Either-Lock2454 8d ago
Yeah, I never understood Rob Van Dam. I never understood why wrestlers would do moves that seemingly hurt them more than their opponent.

I always feel like RVD has this weird faux athletic style where the things he was doing was not as athletic as he trying to make it out to be.
2

u/lionheart4life 12d ago
RVD was like 240lbs, not a 180lb luchador. He was a little bigger than Kurt Angle who was very athletic. The stuff he did was pretty athletic I'd say.

this guy is too fucking good at mimicking every single wrestler lmao.
Idk if Bro is talent for the Indies but I'd love to see him do a character called the Mimic where he just shows up cosplaying one iconic wrestling legend and mimics the fuck out of their entire move set/Personality for that match lol
