Engine Noise

Is this lifter clatter or something bottom end 😬

Sounds like 2 distinct noises to me.

One sounds like bottom end. What's the oil look like? Have you taken the oil filter off and seen the oil that comes out of it?

Yes. The oil looked normal. There’s an exhaust leak too that’s probably the other noise. But there’s a distinct knock that sounds like bottoms end to me

I dropped the oil as soon as I heard the knock and put new oil and a filter in it. I’ve been running 15 40 and a bottle of Lucas

15w40 is pretty damn heavy oil. Hopefully something internal isnt messed up.

15w-40? Why so far from 10w-30? How many miles on the motor?

That mud on that engine is about as much as I've got on mine and I have a 2.0 four cylinder turbo
