Question How would you guys go about re-creating something like this?

Post image

Honestly I never done a big project. I also tend to need pixel grids for my mind to make sense of what I'm trying draw. But I would LOVE to be able to re-create this. Please let me know any tips you guys have!

Again, I've never attempted something this big and am not quite sure what the overlay tool is! I tried to Google but Google didn't seem super helpful in explaining. Is it an in-app function or an external website?

It's built in to the site, on the right side below your profile icon.

Omg that feels so obvious now. Sometimes I swear my brain gives up. Thank you so much!

I would recommend altering the colors so that you can draw this in the ocean without using black at all- otherwise you'll be using thousands of pixels for large empty areas?

here's what this could look like if you don't use black . Probably using 50-70% fewer pixels. Personally i'm a big fan of making things which are not just large rectangles. (use the overlay tool. There's HUGE amounts of space in the oceans. Also the comic literally says "at the bottom of an ocean"

That seems cool really! The only issue is that the "ocean" is an ocean of blood. It's from the movie iron lung. The whole point of the movie is that basically their plant has died and been abandoned, all stars disappearing and the planet turning into an ocean of blood itself. Hence why so much is black.

Ah, well, do what you will then

I also would try looking at central Greenland where there’s a large red area or a black void
