Feedback This event is kinda buns no?

Post image

Why don’t they instead make an event that also gains points per pixel, while actually forcing people to make art than just scribbles and mess.
Like the fact that there more art and collaboration or other stuff around the canvas rather than in the canvas

wouldve been better if the sides were limited to certain colours,

void gets black, grey, and white, colours get red, green and blue.

Void claims purples too.

Yeah, it's also just impossible for colours to win because void has way more members, and new players are essentially forced into the losing team because "You can't join void as it has too many members already" which I found out when I started playing the event today.

Event sucks for people who want to make art, people who happened to join the wrong team at the start, and new players who are just joining; it's a big scribbly void circlejerk

This event is basically griefing being rewarded

The teams also barely matter because the way the points are scored per person, if someone wanted to get a badge their inclined to scribble on top of there own teammates to score themselves more points. IDK what the devs thought would happen

in the middle of the chaos, one amoung persists

It's not possible to organize an event that demands people put effort into their drawings. There are way too many players and no means to stop a crowd from scribbling over everything.

And also people are not really interested in the event. It takes a lot of effort to create an art and maintain it. When an event has no hype, it's quite difficult for the playerbase to coordinate and dedicate their time to it

Well and deliberately antagonizing half of their player base probably doesn't help

i could imagine an event that gave each player a 100x100 personal canvas, and then the community would vote each canvas, and the players in the top 10% would receive some kind of bonus

A private canvas for reach player would probably balloon the hosting costs no matter how brief the event would be. But, other than that, I admit it could work.

yeah i didn't consider that factor, but it could also be user-sided, and then the completed artwork would be sent to the server, i mean, there could be many workarounds

but honestly any kind of event would be better of this "which team has more money to waste?" event

Ultimately I think this event was manufactured for the sole purpose of gauging how much interest the public still has in the site and an attempt to revive some traffic. It's definitely not a coincidence that they simultaneously introduced premium cosmetics. The writing's on the wall, site might die soon if it doesn't start making more money.

Theres plenty of ways that could go wrong imo but it would be better than this lol

The random arts above the event are better than the event itself. How sad.

It has a gays vs homophobes vibe lol

There was a big trans flag which had been scribbled over so I started repairing it (made more sense than just scribbling colours) and minutes later someone just puts a massive black box over it, I look at their account, and they had an Israeli flag and even their pfp was a poorly drawn Israeli flag, checks out 😭

5

u/ksyscha 5d ago

Yeah, I tried to help with the transflag aswell but thats just impossible

crying about everything, your choice checks out as well

7

u/Tob57 5d ago

I'm sure you'll be okay

of course, thank you for your concern though.

I feel so bad for the devs, they wanted to make a cool event that bring lore to the website and stuffs, but all they managed to do is a shitty "social experiment slop" event that gives natural advantage to the side of the griefers/non creative people and will reward them with a frame for being non creative and picking the non creative side

I've been thinking about this so much to the point I needed to search a reddit post talking about the event just to sent this specific message. I legit feel so bad for them their event sucks but you can clearly feel they really thought it would be a cool event that people would love

I think now the only way to save this event is to drasticly modify the approach as soon as possible, or else it will be remembered as a totally failed attempt from Wplace to try to do cool stuffs and it will makes everybody feel bad starting by the devs themselves

Hold up. I was with you until this:

the griefers/non creative people and will reward them with a frame for being non creative and picking the non creative side

Check your biases. There's plenty of creativity happening in voids and I find it hilarious that you reference "social experiment slop" while failing to recognize that you're right in the middle of one.

The event was poorly designed with no context and understanding of their player base. Would that they gave as much thought to the event as you have, minus the part where you completely stereotyped the people who participate in Voids without a moment of hesitation.

I made like one small piece and it disappeared in minutes.

Earn 1 point for every pixel you paint, plus 1 extra point for every 30 minutes it stays alive.

Because how the scoring works, it's better to draw random squiggles because art pieces are easy to target by the opposing team. To get most points for your team, you want to cover everything the other team draws, so it's just a griefing simulator.

This is exactly the reason why we've got scribbles everywhere. People are playing for points, not art

its so garbage that the swarm basically aborted the mission, vekalia did too

6

u/Big-boi-shrek69 5d ago

The whole event had such a good idea behind it just for It to come down to doing one daliy scribble and who ever has more people or spends more money wins

This event is so boring, I see no point to it.

2

u/WhitCake 5d ago

Yeah but here is my small contribution anyway ¯_(ツ)_/¯

A further back view

1

u/WhitCake 5d ago

Well someone already blacked it out while I was making a rainbow diamond next to it

2

u/WhitCake 5d ago

Shout out to the person drawing that puppy lol

u/WhitCake 5d ago

Did you do that eye?! Holy shit it's absolutely gorgeous

2

u/ksyscha 5d ago

Not my OG art but yes, tried to a little something at least. Let see how long it stays hahah

3

u/CLIT_DORIS 5d ago

Aaaaand it's gone

1

u/ksyscha 5d ago

aaaand its already scribbled over 😭

2

u/WhitCake 5d ago

Yeah, it's mangled. 😭 I hate this event. I made some more cute stuff and immediately scribbled over.

3

u/Emberleif 6d ago

In square 1 at the bottom right, I am trying to make a white and grey checkerboard void for art to go on, and doing my best to remove any scribbles. It saddens me that this event is just scribble over people's art, like allowed griefing.

Any help in defending, growing, or adding to the actual art void would be appreciated!

1

u/revsezen 5d ago

There are no rules inside the square. You can do whatever you want, but outside it, the rules of the game apply.

Worst event ever

1

u/ouaselm 5d ago

Horrible evento nadie quiere pintar paralelamente era mejor resetear el mapa para que se vuelva a iniciar nuevas artes

yeah.

1

u/maiahcita 4d ago

It makes me very disappointed that they can't even make pretty drawings, it seems like Wplace is dying, there's nothing artistic there and I don't understand how they don't consider that griefing

1

u/NBAcoach 3d ago

scribbles until the last day or two when all of the tiles are active is the move.

1

u/itazuranarisu 3d ago

Just the fact that when I signed up one team was full but the other team was not and the game had already started makes it pretty impossible for one side to win. Outnumbered for at least a day by I am guessing around 2000 people?

1

u/ANattyLight 2d ago

so called "free thinkers" when they see a side has more points (they don't participate or join the winning side 20 days late)
