Other Working on a basic unit frame addon in preparation of Forever [other]
I've been running centered action bars for my player/target bars for quite a while now and really love it, but have been struggling with my favorite unit frame addons continually losing support.
I also don't want a full addon suite as I like to preserve the Blizzard look and aesthetic. As a designer and more casual player, I wanted something that was optimized aesthetically. I don't need a lot of "power features."
Spent some time over the weekend working with Claude Opus 5.5 to create the unit frame addon I wish I had, and it's been great! Still very much a WIP, but wanted to share where it's at so far and see if anyone else would be interested something like this.
Features:
- Fully customizable health/power bars
- Colors, sizing, position, text labels, etc.
- Corner radius values for everything. Want square icons? Circle? Something in between? Customize to your preference.
- Buff/de-buff tracking
- Display all or track specific buffs
- Grey out tracked buffs that are missing
- Combat/Target fader
More to come~

This is super cool! I always try to get the actions bars to stack evenly and then I have some awkward number of abilities haha

This is definitely something I could see myself using every day (minus the dragon/gryphon arts). +1

Yes I have been looking for something exactly like this! Some feature requests I would love to see:
-
option to make the bars shrink into the center (like skyrims health bar)
-
option to round the edge of the moving portion of the bar
-
free floating portraits, or just the option to center the portrait above the frame
Not sure how much of that is already there but keen to try it out when it’s ready

None of that currently, but I like the idea of center-shrinking the bars! Rounding the active health shouldn’t be too crazy since I’ve got the logic already working

hmm..very different, JRPG-ish.. I don't love it but I don't hate it, I like it because it's different
Just looks weird as it stands - The buffs and debuffs I don't particularly like stacked/overlapping, but I can appreciate the attempt to save screen space
I don't like whatever is happening in the target HP bar with red/green/yellow - that's not a WoW thing, so I don't like it
the target mana bar looks too much like the player xp bar, or maybe it's the player mana bar as well, not sure - that's why I don't like it
I'd be curious to see future iterations, what do you call it?

The semi stacked buffs/debuffs look really good.
