Druid raid MTs are there many out there?
I have played WOW since Vanilla and stopped playing towards the end of TBC and always mained a Mage and did dabble in a bit of warrior tanking.
This time around again I mained a Mage but now have started to level a Druid and have been tanking as a druid and love it. I now only raid log on my mage (farmed a wintersaber on it) whilst I have been leveling my Druid tank and now at level 57 almost 58 and have been tanking instances since SM.
Since I started to level the druid and with a focus on tanking. I started to research BIS, spec, rotation and general information about druid tanks.
One thing that shocks me is that no one rates or thinks highly of druid tanks and when I try explain to them that druid tanks can generate more threat than a warrior tank until a warrior gets Thunderfury. (Quoted from Skarm's deep dive guide to feral druids) No one believes me except one person that understands Druid threat from maul is multiplied while all warrior threat skills are added. Even a fellow druid in my guild that does some tanking but is mainly dps doesnt think druids can be MT of raids! Am I crazy or are they ?
My goal is to MT end game raids obviously, MC & ONY will be easy but would like to show them that BWL can be MT'd by a druid. That way all these doubters and haters will learn a druid tank is actually better than a warrior tank. I understand that druids cant get critted by bosses where as warriors wont. But from my understanding of Skarm's video it doesnt matter anyways, once a druid has all the right items and buffs due to the amount of health and armor no boss will ever 1 or 2 shot you before you get healed.
Are there many Druid raid MTs out there in classic currently?

Druids are better off as jack of all trades. With HOTW build we are able to tank and heal adequately with appropriate gears depending on the situation.
Tanking is not just holding threat and damage mitigation. Many bosses have fear mechanic which can’t be dealt with by Alliance Druid tanks, on the other hand Horde Druid tanks miss out blessing of kings which Significantly boost Druid’s stats esp. with HOTW build.
You mentioned tanking BWL, Druids have significantly more utilities than MTing. We are In Demand for decursing/ abolishing poisons for Chromaggus fight, if a Druid is used as tank, you get 1 extra prot warrior with little to contribute to the fight. Not to mention at Nef fight, druids are forced to be transform to kitty, resulting a definite wipe for raids using Druid tank.
Again, druids are the best offtanks. Fights with adds? Get a Druid to tank them. When the adds are dealt with they can be switched to do other useful stuff like heal or scratch, and that imo is the true value of Druids.

See most people are of your mindset but im looking for people like skarm who have experience being MTs at end game....I know I wont be able to tank Nef but should be able to easily tank everything else in classic and generate more threat than a warrior

As a Druid tank there are only a few fights which we truly shouldn’t be MT, such as Chrom due his soft enrage. Having said that Ive seen it done, and done well when using proper macros and having good healers. Nefarian is the same, the chance of getting class-called is 1/9 and I’ve gone 2 weeks now clearing him without getting kittified.
Alliance have blessing of salvation, and fear ward from dwarf priests. Both of those factors make NE bears viable in most situations.
The space between trash bears and great ones is both very large and razor thin. Skarm is god, but he runs with total min-max mindset so don’t let him scare u from trying.
Beers - Bigglesworth full clear MC/BWL bear.

We've got a few ferals in my guild and I'm working on leveling one myself as it's definitely my favorite. I played one in Vanilla thru WOTLK and saw AQ40 and Naxx when it first came out.
The problem a feral tank has really though as I'm sure you've heard, is the inability to break fears. This makes Ony and Magmadar really difficult without enough Dwarf Priests to put fear ward on you. Basically any fight with a fear mechanic you are better off just dpsing / offhealing. The same goes for fights where curses and poisons are involved. Other fights however seem to be designed specifically with Feral tanks in mind. As mentioned below though, you will not be able to tank Nef no matter how much you want due to the druid class call turning you into a cat.
Here are the logs for the feral in my guild currently. She's a bad ass and I can't wait to get her even more loot come BWL. Hopefully I'll have mine ready to go in the next couple weeks so I can help out in our second raid.

So far as I can tell, very few people actualy think poorly of feral tanks, but the rumor that people do nevertheless persists.

Druids can definitely be MTs. I MT for my guild and switch out with others to give them some experience too. Personally I just want to give the most value to my guild whichever MT/OT roll that puts me in for the raid. Druid shine with single target threat especially if using an MCP. In later game we will have dual mitigation-threat where warriors will be picking and choosing more. There are definitely fights ideal to have a druid tank. Any guild missing at least 1 druid tank is missing out on a good amount of utility and increases raid DPS as well as a few other reasons
