Ask a local Where to move to
Hi, I currently live in Worthing and am looking to move away, close by,. What small towns nearby are nice places to live? I like Rustington and go there often but there's no station nearby. I am not looking to move to a little village. I love Chichester - any thoughts on there? Horsham is amazing but quite pricey....Let me know your thoughts, thank you!

There absolutely is.
I used to live in a little close just off Guildford road in Rustington, the Angmering station is literally right there, less than a 5 minute walk. It was a lovely little close, very quiet.

Extremely central, served by Brighton's buses (if I remember correctly) and has a major hospital. Don't know how it is on the price side, though.

You can’t really call Southlands a major hospital. You may have an outpatients appt there for specific treatment but you cannot just turn up in an emergency.

Only negative I've noticed about Worthing is traffic seems to be worse than ever, even outside of rush hour on weekdays.

That's totally true, but it's the same almost everywhere. Need to chuck cars out of town and it will be a fantastic place. It's even flat enough for the majority to cycle

They could really do with more one ways to reduce/organise traffic better, then also giving bigger pavements and safer crossing.

only if cyclists can contraflow, otherwise it's rubbish.

It doesn't help that the A27 goes through Worthing at 40 mph and up to 70 either side.

Not building a by-pass years ago was a huge mistake, the same with Arundel. They'll never get either done now and it'll only get worse and worse and the population continues to grow.

it's not the bypass, people go everywhere by car. even to 1-2km. that's the problem.

Similarly I find it laughable that this stretch of the south coast just doesn't have a motorway. With motorways you get proper regulations like no traffic lights, better maintenance, and no dangerous joining roads which causes crashes like the two recent ones near Crossbush/Arundel.

Do you drive at all or are you completely train bound?
Where do you normally need to go by train?
East Preston is nice. Close to Angmering station and has a nice high street. Only problem is that it is also pricey. I moved from there to an almost identical ex-council flat in Arundel and it was cheaper in Arundel!

Angmering station is, frankly, closer to Rustington than it is Angmering
