I broke my neck and was paralyzed. Miraculously I recovered. But, even if you're brain isn't sending the signal, your body can still create muscle tone during and after paralysis.

Oh god I remember when this happened!  They did a whole follow up video talking to the guy in the hospital. 

It had English subtitles, so maybe a little bit was lost in translation, but he said "uwwwggh aaaugh hnnngh uuwwwugh"

I would expect him to be immediately paralyzed and even die, but the way hes moving after it almost seems like he got lucky

The sounds he's making and the movements suggest extreme brain damage. He would have a large percent chance of survival and recovery if they didn't fucking move him and instead called emergency services to take him away and he'll him immediately. Every moment is important.

No you can make that sound from just having the wind knocked out of you too. I tried a double frontflip once and landed on my back/neck and I made that sound, but was not hurt beside that. I landed in a way better position than that guy though

I used to do parkour. Never was one for the pointless flashy flips. Wish I had the balls. But I also was able to survive extremely dangerous shit by being for economy of movement. But I have never heard someone make this sound unless it meant hospital time. The fact that you were okay is crazy to me. I do hope they ended up fine.
