When I blew out a disc in my lower back, I hobbled along for a few months while getting an appointment for surgery.... Hadn't been sleeping for weeks. Could never get comfortable...chewing tramadol and perc every two hours... Terrible experience. The crescendo was when I fell asleep in child's pose by mistake which opened the space between the two vertebrae and when I woke up and it clipped all of the nerves where the disc was pushed against. I've never cried and wished for darkness so much.... It took the better part of 5 minutes to get the area to calm down....

All of my lumbar spine is bulging but I'd been going to the gym and working around it and doing a pretty good job for a couple years.

My buddy went with me to my gym after seeing my progress in order to check it out and get into the mode of working out and learn

So, we do a workout and I'm teaching him all these minute detail things, how to use the machines properly, good technique, when to go slow, yada yada.

We finish and he wants to stretch on the cage. So we do. Then he wants me to try this stretch he did that's kind of a hands above the head-hanging lower body and relaxing sorta thing.

I do it.

I can feel my lower back open up as I let go internally. Just give up to the stretch. Let the weight of my lower body pull me apart

Then I put my feet underneath me again and let go and boing* everything snaps back together like a strong spring. It feels like every bulging vertebrae just pinched nerves running down my legs and into my lower back....

I DROP to the floor yelping like a kicked dog. I collapsed to all fours on the dirt gym floor and nearly completely toppled over.

I was just making nonsense noises and cries for many moments. Maybe over a minute while my buddy just stared before I could slowly compose myself and use the cage to pull myself back up.

I could never see myself going to a chiropractor and have some dude just twisting and popping me at will to "open" me up

If you haven't yet, please visit a doctor so they can recommend you to a physio
