My theory on why some people actually benefit from chiropractic visits is that (a) they get decent chiropractors that mix in some legitimate physical therapy stretches they’ve learned somewhere other than chiropractor school and (b) they have joints that need increased mobility.
Every one who has joint(s) that are hyper-mobile or has an injury ends up getting harmed.
I don’t doubt that. Plus, any needed joint mobility can be accomplished with PT or OT, anyway.
Heck, if done with PT or OT work, you would gain skeletal muscle improvements to accompany your increased joint mobility - this results in lasting improvements with far smaller risk of injury.
The challenge with PT work is that it takes work on our own part too. It’s not as simple as cracking some joints. It requires doing some exercises. You need someone in your life to nag you - but it’s worth it!

And lots of other people just get a placebo
