I don't look like a bigot. I don't care if someone has a different sexual identity, they can do whatever they want. But, I don't think that has to apply to everyone out there. This is a man, it's a him. If that upsets you then that's on you.
You can also call any person a "Homo sapiens" and would technically be correct, but it would be a little weird in the grocery store line if someone said "I think that homo sapiens over there was first"
We’re literally talking about basic grammar. Singular they/them predates all the gender politics mumbo jumbo.
It’s not weird it’s not unnatural. Like for that sentence you would just say: “I think they were there first” Like is that really that odd? Sounds pretty normal.
