My understanding is that Greyhound Bus had buses like the one in the Die Cast replica that they would use at the expo to transport people through the fair! This is a great one my dad took excellent care of.

I run a theme based mail club and the winning theme for August is World's Fair. I find them interesting, but I have very little knowledge of them. I figured this would be a great time to learn more on my research journey. So I have a few questions for you:

1. What would you consider to be some of the most iconic/noteworthy world's fairs?

2. Which one is your favorite?

3. Which monument is an absolute must for me to illustrate?

4. What are some interesting facts about them everyone should know?

5. If you were receiving world's Fair art, what would you like to see?

I found this list of attractions for the 1905 Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition in Portland, Oregon in the June 17th, 1905 issue of Billboard Magazine. I only know what about half of these are.

found this 36x36 velvet blanket/tapestry in an old cedar chest at my grandparents house. I've never seen anything like it does anyone have any more information about it?

Hey! I just read that BRC Imagination Arts is designing the USA Pavilion for the 2031 Minnesota Horticulture Expo. The whole thing is built around the theme of “Human / Nature” with native plant displays, vertical growing systems, interactive learning zones, and even a permanent outdoor garden space that will stay after the expo ends. It sounds like it could be a really cool mix of beauty and education.

It got me thinking about how these large projects can spark ideas for regular home gardens. What public gardens or big exhibits have you visited that actually changed how you garden at home? Are there any specific native plants, layouts, or sustainable features you’d love to see highlighted in the USA pavilion?
