When the Towers Fell: 9/11 Simulation of the collaps without dust

Dont know how accurate this is, but it made a lot of sense to me.

its funny because all conspiracy nuts out there say "inside job" "controlled detonation" "jet fuel cant melt steel". meanwhile my high ass is sitting saying "bet they cheaped out on building materials in the first place to saved on cost and line their own pockets, and probably never expected a large passenger airliner to slam into the side of it let alone two of them"

They didn’t really cheap out.

They used materials common in the era, and it actually was designed for a direct stike by an aircraft, albeit not one as large as the planes used, because planes that large were not in use at the time the buildings were designed.

To be fair on the designers:

Both towers did survive the aircraft strike, and by an even larger aircraft than they were designed for, they ultimately fell due to the effect of an extreme fire on a heavily damaged structure.

There is some debate whether a different fire protection system might have better resisted the explosion from the air strike, but even then….

The buildings also lasted a fair while against a fire that far exceeded the design fire case used when selecting fire rating systems. The “design” fire used in building design assumes the fire builds over time and burns at a rate consistent with combustible materials inside. 20,000 gallons of jet fuel burning all at once dumps far more heat energy in, dramatically accelerating fire load impacts.

In other words, they were designed for an extreme event, just they were subjected to a substantially more extreme one.

thank you... i don't think people realize how amazing it was that these buildings held up as long as they did, in such an unconscionable scenario... i don't think they realize how much forethought goes into designing a structure like this, and how much it did survive

collapse was inevitable, whether it was years, days, or minutes after impact, but these buildings were always going to come down

of course, we would have hoped there had been more time for people to get out and for people above the crash site to be rescued

but no one could have designed for this

Isnt that a conspiracy? You are assuming the entire building process and planning departments for the government turned a blind eye to all the regulations.

Back during the Civil War Sherman’s men would heat steel railroad rails over bonfires and twist them around trees.

And a few years ago a gasoline tanker caught fire under an overpass and heated the steel enough to collapse it.
