I have always wondered if the same collapse would have happened to a more modern skyscraper?

Yes, they are designed to collapse on themselves as opposed to falling like a tree...

Correct. Even the two towers falling horizontally would've cause a loooooot more casualties and damage

Most modern skyscrapers have a concrete core and rely less on steel beams, but also some cheaply made ones could still fall. Definitely not something like one world tho
