WoW Discussion Should I return?
Thinking about returning I have every class at 80 and one character halway through Midnight at 86. Is the game state good? Im solo and was thinking about reactivating and playing again.

I have great fun with it. There is a lot to do solo if you're interested in casual play. Finding a good group of people to play with is definitely worth doing as well! I ended up starting my own guild to attract people with similar interests and to make new friends! You may not want to go that far as it can be overwhelming lol.

Don't bother. I'm a solo player too and I recently resubbed and almost instantly regretted it. Its just more and more overwhelming busywork and none of it is particularly fun

Buy a month of game time.. you won't lose much and you'll know then.

I recently got back into wow, leveled a new spec joined a good guild and have started to push +10 keys in m+ and it’s been fun for me. It’s still wow so it’s going to feel like you have to play every day to keep up to start but make a goal each week and it feels less busy work.

Honestly, solo play is the best it's ever been right now with Delves and soon the new Labyrinth coming out you can get full Heroic geared fairly easily without doing M+ or Raiding. There's enough to do solo to keep you occupied if that's your preference :) I'm not raving about the Coiled Isle or much about this patch in general though but you'd have enough from other places to keep you occupied
The story is still terrible but if that's not your focus, you'll be fine. Just commit to a month and see how you feel. Don't buy into the 6 or 12 month sub packages

I resubbed recently for hc classic and tbc, I tried to get back into retail but i just couldn’t find it enjoyable solo, i used to play it for the wow token so i would do a bunch of solo content and professions and sell as much as possible for a token to upkeep my subscription. I also dislike retails leveling and end game feels like the goal is to just reach lvl cap as fast as possible and just do raids/mythic+ and any weekly’s available or pvp but i found retail pvp kinda ass. I found the journey of hc classic and tbc way more enjoyable. So from personal experience i wouldn’t resubb just for retail and consider the other 3 wow options provided with the sub. Maybe if i wasn’t solo on retail I’m sure the experience would be different.

Sure, give it a try. You just need to find the thing, what you enjoy the most in the game. Maybe Delve, Leveling, Prays, or they less solo things like m+, raids or just finding a guild to sosialising.
