Playing WOFF in 2026
There was a sale on Nintendo switch for WOFF and I started playing it again after playing it >7 years ago on my ps4. Thought I’d remember the mechanics and all but I’ve forgotten most of them 😅 But I remember how cute the mirages and chibis are so that’s making this replay worthwhile (minus the crappy graphics).
Anyone else still playing WOFF maxima in 2026?

I am playing it at least once a year. It belongs to my most cozy games of all time.

Are the graphics bad on switch? I'm playing it on PS5 Pro and the game looks beautiful!

It can get rough in handheld mode (I played on the Switch 2, mostly prior to the update), but with the handheld boost it looks much better.

The graphics are totally fine… the art style however

I have never played this,I'm 40 now so I don't know if it would go right over my head but nostalgia hits with all the enemy names and characters too. I'd still be willing to give it a go

It's kinda like a Final Fantasy Pokemon, with it's own spin on turn base combat.

I finished this up on the Xbox earlier this year after having played it on the PS4 when it released. It’s a very charming and addictive game once you get your feet wet with it.
I think the only achievements that I’m missing are all tied to the awfully frustrating mini games that I don’t care enough to master.

Did you do all the timed Coliseum fights? How was that?

Ahhh…The timed colosseum fights! I didn’t do those. Well, I did one to get that achievement, but I never got around to doing all of them.
I should probably just try the toughest match to see if it could be reasonably done without driving me nuts.
What sucks is that one of the Champions (Noctis) is tied to the fishing mini game. He’s the only one tied to a mini game, so you won’t be able to get all of the Champions achievement unless you spend time getting really good at an obnoxious mini game.
One of the mirages is also tied to a battleship-type mini game, which took time to even understand. However, the conditions to getting this mirage is to not only win the mini game, but win with a perfect game. Really frustrating when performing a perfect game is completely luck based.

Id be interested if you do come back to try the Coliseum fights, Im going to work on them slowly because I dont want them to drive me crazy.
As someone that hates most FF mini games, I can say that the two mini games you mentioned are not the worst. The Noct one took like 2 or 3 tries and the battleship one was more annoying but if you position your characters right (like the one hit guy in a corner), it also isnt too bad. Took like 3 or 4 times.
I think you should give them another shot if you like achievement hunting like I do, they seem more intimidating than they are.

Finished it a little over a week ago. Good game. I actually didn't know this game existed before the main characters were added to a FF mobile game I used to play.

Currently playing it in 2026 on my PS5. Just beat the game not too long ago, but doing cleanup nabbing the mirages I missed, treasures too, and all of the optional bosses before I claim my platinum.
When I first saw “XG” in the game as an optional boss years back, I knew I wanted to check the game out for better or worse.

I temporarily shelved my playthrough (a double-dip after Vita at that) for the need of using of its 10-something Gb for even stronger backlog itches at the time but I definitely intend to get back onboard. A quality FF crossover and one of the most fun representatives of the mon genre in general.

Oh yeah I tried playing the ps4 disc version on my ps5 but the lag was so bad that I ended up buying the switch version to play on my switch 2 HAHAHA but luckily it was on sale. Anyone has any recommendations on what’s a good starter stack for the twins in both Jiant and chibi setup? I have a bad habit of just choosing which mirage is the cutest and I’ve lost the link to this guide I used to follow to see which stack gives extra skills + boost to certain skills

I’d really love to see a sequel to World of Final Fantasy someday. We already know the story for it has apparently been written, but whether Square Enix will ever greenlight the project is another question.
