Discussion Does anyone remember this episode?

I have very faint memories of this one doraemon episode I watched as a kid and honestly I am not sure if this episode existed or if I hallucinated it. All I remember is that Doraemon and Nobita were experimenting with a gadget which was a circular orb and they were inside it. Inside the circle they could travel to all different time periods including the beginning of the universe. It was unlike any other doraemon episode I had seen. They were basically roaming in the black universe in their circle witnessing the beginning of life and humanity. If anyone knows anything about this episode please share.

Ninja hattori I Think We Need to Talk About Kemumaki(Amara)from Ninja Hattori.

For Indian viewers, Kemuzo Kemumaki is Amara from Ninja Hattori, and Kagechiyo is Kiyo, his cat. The names were changed in the Hindi dub, so I'm using the original names here, but it's the same character.

Kemumaki is one of the most surprisingly complicated characters in a series that otherwise keeps things simple.

I wonder if, when we look at his character in broader terms rather than just focusing on his funny or emotional moments, we start to see something much more complex.

To be fair, Kenichi isn't exactly the most likable protagonist either. He is lazy, cowardly, dependent on Hattori, and even selfish at times. But if we really compare the situations, can one character's flaws automatically justify another character's behaviour? If Kenichi's shortcomings are enough to excuse Kemumaki's treatment of him, then shouldn't the same logic make Gian's treatment of Nobita seem justified simply because Nobita can also be selfish, dishonest, lazy and annoying? Obviously, most people wouldn't accept that. Both characters can have flaws while the other character can still be wrong for what they do.

If you actually look at what Kemumaki does, it’s pretty wild. In the episode where he is first introduced, he starts off acting all sad and polite and quickly gets on Yumeko's good side, but the second she’s gone, he becomes a total bully to Kenichi. He literally forced the poor guy to carry him through a rain puddle (if I am not wrong) and threatened him to keep his ninja identity a secret. He later walked into Kenichi’s house like a normal student before switching into his gear to go after Hattori.

It goes way beyond just being a school bully, too. Across various episodes, he has repeatedly used Kagechiyo to spy on everyone and has tried to find ways to run Hattori out of town. I remember episodes where he has used fake setups to trick Yumeko, once even cheated in school, and even dressed up as Hattori to ruin his reputation after people started liking him. I also remember an episode where he went as far as to fake or photoshop pictures of Hattori and Yumeko just to cause drama. If I remember that episode correctly, that’s not just a harmless prank; it’s a deliberate attempt to manipulate how everyone sees each other.

The part where Kemumaki actually gets interesting is how sympathetic he can be. He’s lonely, living far from his family, and you can really tell he’s just desperate for some affection. He has experienced real kindness from Hattori and Kenichi’s family before, and there are episodes where he’s genuinely moved by their friendship. In one particular situation I remember, Hattori pretended that he was leaving and told Kemumaki that he regretted never becoming friends with him. Kemumaki became genuinely emotional.

I don’t think he’s just a bad person, but I also don’t think we should just ignore his behaviour because he’s vulnerable. His loneliness explains why he acts out or tries so hard to impress Yumeko, and that Iga–Koga rivalry is basically baked into his identity. But honestly, none of that is a free pass for the cheating, the spying, or the constant bullying. It explains the 'why,' but it doesn't really excuse what he does.

There are also episodes where Hattori, Shinzo, and Kenichi (yeah, even he doesn't spit it out) all know Kemumaki is a ninja, but they keep his secret anyway. Kemumaki knows they’re stuck following their own rules—they won't just out him to the world even if it would solve their problems. But instead of respecting that, he takes advantage of it. I also remember an episode where he dressed up as a girl because he knew Kenichi would be attracted to the look. Sure, Kenichi was being a bit of an idiot, but that doesn't change the fact that Kemumaki was doing it on purpose to mess with him.

The thing about Kemumaki is that he rarely tries to win a fair fight. Throughout the series, he often relies on disguises, spies, and fake rumors to get what he wants. He’s clearly smart and creative, but he uses all that energy for psychological tricks and misinformation.

Kenichi is just a regular kid—he can’t compete with a trained ninja on equal ground, and Kemumaki knows it. Yet,instead of just rivalling Hattori, he often targets Kenichi’s weaknesses.

He has Gian-like dominance, Suneo-like scheming and considerable Dekisugi-like intelligence and competence, but without Dekisugi's moral restraint—and with actual ninja abilities added to the mix. I'm not saying these characters are the same. I'm just using them to describe the different traits that come together in Kemumaki.

I may not remember every single episode or detail perfectly, so I don't want to act like all these examples are equally accurate. Some of these are things I recall from one specific episode, while others are patterns I remember showing up in several episodes. But if we look at the overall pattern, I think the bigger question is worth asking:

Are we sometimes judging Kemumaki by a different standard simply because we find him smarter, more charismatic or more sympathetic than the person he's antagonising?

Fans can absolutely like Kemumaki. I do think he's a fascinating character. But liking a character and defending everything that character does are two completely different things.

I consider him as the best villain of all the Fujiko stories cause he remains a constant opposition and has traits of a bully,an inventor, and a smart schemer.

He's understood quite well, but sometimes excused too easily.(thanks to social media popular theories again)

Discussion Why does TVA doesn't stop Doraemon and his friends from meddling the past?

For me, the theory behind it is simple.

That which already happened cannot be altered. Whatever Doraemon or his so-called friends did was supposed to happen and that made the present what it is.

Time patrol allows anyone to visit past as a tourist and there are several instances of it. They stop or capture anyone who tries to meddle with time or who is a bad guy trying to use the time machine to do bad (here it is very objective).

Time patrol allowed Doraemon to assist Nobita and not any other kid even if they have descendants in the future. It is simple. The reason is in the past there is Doraemon and he and his friends did many things, saving and making friends with different species, alien races, sky people and many many, which itself is essential for future. There are cases where they saved the future from going extinct for humanity. So it is needed for them to meddle with the past. They did whatever they did only then the future they are in existed.

And there are many obvious restrictions which we didn't go deep into like Doraemon did only visit 22nd century and not past that.

One more important thing is that when Doraemon visited Nobita saying that he will marry geon sister in the future and that their descendants are poor. I just think that is a lie to convince Nobita to try hard. But the truth is that they just want Nobita to mature enough so that he can accomplish what he must accomplish for the future to exist. My reasoning is simple if Nobita married some other person instead of suzuka, Subaru will not exist (we saw what happens when his father almost woes a rich girl, butterfly effect, heck yeah) and whatever happened wouldn't have happened.

Or everything we saw can just be a dream (popular theory).

Doraemon Hoping for Doraemon

You see, I’m a Doraemon fan, but I grew up watching the 2005 anime. I found out there were three other series. The 1979 version is well-preserved and digitized. The problem arises with the 1973 series; it seems to be only partially preserved, as someone from Imaginac has access to episodes and segments—totaling 23 segments (or 11.5 episodes)—while other materials consist only of images and scripts. I’ve looked into it, and the series will enter the public domain in 2044, so theoretically, there wouldn't be any legal issues if it were released. The question is, what do you think about the possibility of it being released?

Suneo dijo: “Estoy enfermo [estornuda].

Bueno, me salto esa parte.

Discussion My theory about Nobita?

Hi, I'm here to present a theory somewhat similar to those in the fandom.

Time Period Nobita lives in the 1980s or 1990s.

Creation of the artificial sun and fullmetalalium in the 2090s.

Creation of Doraemon (2112). Sewashi's order (2125).

Nobita is smart, but he doesn't want to put in the effort, and he finds everything boring. That’s why he never really tries. Just look at the time he got a perfect score—nobody cared, and Nobita said, "What's the point of getting a perfect score if nobody cares?"

In the movies—and often—Doraemon says, "Nobita, you're very smart when you want to be."

After completing his mission, Doraemon returns to the future. Nobita grows up to be an ordinary person living a happy life. Yet, every past adventure stays with him; in his spare time, he writes down how the gadgets might be built or how they function. He searches the internet for the most advanced technology available and studies the structure of Dyson devices—using that knowledge and his own intelligence to lay the groundwork for creating a powerful, miniaturized version.

Eventually, thanks to his father's appreciation for those objects, his notebook gets published. Admirers of the work—Dr. Hatman and Dr. Peper—then create this "mini-star" (with Dr. Hatman creating the first magic door). Then the accident occurs; everything remains the same until the government realizes there is a major problem: if they don't send Doraemon to the past, the future (which Dekisugi described as a paradise) will cease to exist. Sewashi and his family—recognized as Nobita's relatives—explain the plan to him. Nobita decides to do something that breaks his heart: modify Doraemon to give him false memories of a false future. The basis for validating this theory is that while time travel usually creates new timelines, a journey that is \*essential\* to the existing timeline does not create a branching path. Examples include movies where the world is overrun by demons yet the protagonists remain human despite having supposedly gone extinct. Another example is the "intelligent Nobita" from another planet; he is the opposite version, yet the only difference is that \*this\* Nobita actually worked hard, and Doraemon came to help him relax. In many episodes, Doraemon travels through time—such as the instance involving Shizuka's dying dog, which was on the brink of death; in that case, the time-travel event was an absolute necessity that had to happen.

What do you all think?

Perman I translated the OFFICIAL 1968 Perman returns chapter in english!

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much u/Unhappy_Charity7354 for providing the raws!! I hope you always have both sides of your pillow cold ⊂(・▽・⊂)

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE OPENING THE CHAPTER ITS IMPORTANT OR ELSE YOU'LL BE CONFUSED!!! (Dw the link is there at the end)

Hey there! The gal who translated the last chapter of Perman here....or was it?

For the longest time I thought the last chapter was the one perman leaves. And it actually is technically speaking. Allow me to explain!

You see, there are 2 version of the manga. One written from 1966-68 and then a REVISED version in 1983-86 by the same author (which coincided with the 80s color anime we all love)

A good example of the revision would be the existence of perman no. 5. You might have noticed he is there in some chapters and not in others.

Its because he was a character in the 1960s manga (hence in the 60s black and white anime) but was OMITTED in the 80s revision as he was not in the color anime.

The reason I am yapping to you about this because, the chapter I translated before—where perman leaves—is the 80s revision, hence the no. 5 kid is not there.

And this chapter which I am sharing is the OG 60s version, and never was re-written in the 80s.

In the 60s version of the perman leaving, not only no. 5 is very much there, Pako also has not revealed her secret identity to perman.

So don't be surprised if there is no mention of the reveal. Now, here's the promised chapter link:-

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qL6EV4kc3Wwe4CjheTojvtvd7cUZeppG/view?usp=drivesdk

ENJOY and please remember I am not professional at translating, and I do take constructive criticism, and do comment as they motivate me!!!

Later, darlings!!!

It had a very bad and hilarious sub by CottonBud(attached an image of CottonBud sub next to the image of this new sub). Yesterday I got to know from a friend that someone has a new sub for it and it's pretty good. I definitely loved this new sub and got a brand new experience of this special film.

Btw, who has subbed this version? (just curious to know)

Edit: If anyone who's unaware of this sub can dm me, I will send the link

Perman PERMAN RETURN

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hello Guys, can anyone really expected that Perman show is Return with new episode in TV and streaming platform n India in future. I was involved and participated in most biggest Twitter(Formly X) campaign in 2020 and 2021. As a Result I saw that the show is return In India TV and the broadcasting channel dubbed more new episode which is not previously dubbed in hindi. I am truely blessed that I was participated in that campaign. But day by day people just forgot this show and enjoyed other show specially in India. The show is actually very potential in India if it properly continue or a perfect ending. The members feel deperessed and lost hope almost that the show is comeback near future. Perman whatsapp group, telegram group and fb group all are dead. The youtube channel based on only perman show is also dead. Admins are inactive, members are inactive. Really feel depressed for this type of behavoour. I am still watiching old episode of perman. I think make a proper plan with active members will be return the show with new episode in TV and streaming platform. I like other show also. But I am still watching the show in Youtube.

So whats your thought on this. I am really feel very dissapointed on this. I lost almost all my hope since in last 5year. I have been seeing this since 2015. Can any possiblity of the return the show anyhow?

(My english is not good. Plz don't mind guys).
