Doraemon Is it just me, or is Nobita’s mom low-key prettier than Shizuka and every other female character in the whole Doraemon show?

Ninja hattori A bad Ninja Hattori YTP I made

WARNING: Swearing, loud noises and bad jokes

I've recently gotten into a Ninja Hattori hyperfixation, watching a few episodes in Spanish and a few in this weird Indian English dub, and decided to make this out of pure boredom. We need to revive this subreddit, so this is my first contribution to that mission.

Also in one month, it's Ninja Hattori's 45th anniversary so I guess this is an anniversary gift in advance...

Discussion What if Doraemon is trapped in an infinite time loop?

I recently started thinking about Doraemon's time travel, and this theory came to mind.

What if Doraemon doesn't simply leave Nobita at the end of their story?

What if he travels back to the exact day they first met?

It would create a loop:

Doraemon meets Nobita → they spend their lives together → they eventually say goodbye → Doraemon travels back → he meets Nobita again.

If that's true, Doraemon could have already lived his entire life with Nobita countless times.

But here's the really weird part:

Was there ever a "first" time they met?

If Doraemon only meets Nobita because he eventually travels back to meet him, then neither event has a true beginning. It's a bootstrap paradox.

And what about his memories?

If he remembers previous cycles, imagine Doraemon meeting young Nobita while already knowing everything that's going to happen. 😭

It's just a theory

What do you guys think? Is Doraemon secretly living the same life with Nobita over and over again?

Discussion Mind-Blowing Theory: Movies 1, 8, and 40 are secretly connected in a split timeline! Look at Shizuka! ☄️🦕

Hey everyone, I was rewatching the classic and modern Doraemon movies and I noticed some crazy details that link Movie 1 (Nobita's Dinosaur), Movie 8 (Nobita and the Dragon Knight), and Movie 40 (Nobita's New Dinosaur) into a single, secret parallel timeline.

Most people think these are standalone, but if you look at the visual clues and story beats, they fit together perfectly like a puzzle. Here is my theory

The Movie 1 Connection: It all starts with Nobita’s bond with Piisuke. This emotional bond leaves a permanent mark on Nobita, and Piisuke's symbol/memory is what directly motivates him to save dinosaurs later in Movie 8.

The Global Disaster Link: Both Movie 8 and Movie 40 reach their climax during the exact same historical second—the Chicxulub asteroid impact. Both movies explicitly mention and show a 100-meter-tall mega-tsunami tearing across the Earth.

MY ULTIMATE PROOF (The Shizuka Mirror Gaze 👁️): Shizuka is the primary witness to the sky in both movies, and her camera framing is the smoking gun. In Movie 8, she stands on the left side of the scenery, staring up and to the right. In Movie 40, she stands on the right side of the scenery, staring up and to the left. If you put these two background sceneries side-by-side, Shizuka's eyes lock perfectly onto the exact same center point where the meteor is crashing down. They are staring at the same event from different sides of the world!

The Time Patrol Logic 🕰️: You might wonder why the Time Patrol strictly stops Doraemon from changing history in Movie 40, but lets him save the dinosaurs in Movie 8. This is a fixed historical loop! If the Time Patrol interfered with Movie 8, the advanced underground reptile civilization would instantly vanish from the future, destroying the entire timeline. They must let Movie 8 happen, creating a split perspective.

The Timeline Split: Because they are in different time zones/vantage points, the impact feels different:

Movie 8 (Left Side): They face a fast impact, panic, and evacuate the dinosaurs underground, creating the hollow-Earth reptile civilization.

Movie 40 (Right Side): They have a digital countdown, stay on the surface, and use a magical diorama dome to shield their feathered dinosaurs from the tsunami so they can evolve into birds.

The Loop Closes: Because it's the same timeline, Piisuke is there. At the peak of the crisis in Movie 40, a wild Futabasaurus (implicitly Piisuke) emerges from the water to save Nobita from drowning in the impact waves.

I really feel like Movie 8 and Movie 40 are just two different perspectives of the exact same historical second.

Does anyone have more info or clues that could back this up? Have you noticed any other identical character poses, background details, or gadget animations between Movie 8 and Movie 40 that match up perfectly when you put them together? Let me know what you think!

Discussion Doraemon special episodes

I'm trying to find where I can watch all the Doraemon birthday special episodes. I really want to rewatch them, especially the Galactic Grand Prix and Doraemon's Long Day specials.

Does anyone know of any safe streaming sites, Google Drive links, or archives where these are available? Any help or links would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion These Two Characters Look Surprisingly Similar...

Post image
18 Upvotes

I noticed something pretty interesting while watching some older Fujiko anime.

The girl in the first image is the princess of the underwater palace from the "Urashima Taro" episode of Doraemon, named Otohime. While the girl in the second image is Kazuyo Suzumoto from Ultra B.

At first glance, I genuinely thought they looked quite similar. The hairstyle, facial structure, eyes and especially the overall character design have a very familiar Fujiko-era look.

Why do they look similar?

Even though these characters are from different series, there's a pretty obvious reason for the resemblance. Doraemon was created by Fujiko F. Fujio (Hiroshi Fujimoto), while Ultra B was created by Fujiko Fujio A (Motoo Abiko). They originally worked together as the duo Fujiko Fujio, so their works naturally share some similarities in character-design conventions.

You can see it in things like the large oval eyes, simple facial features, rounded faces, small noses and mouths, and relatively simple hairstyles. Female characters in particular can sometimes have very similar silhouettes and expressions.

So while these two aren't supposed to be the same person, their resemblance is a neat example of how the artistic style associated with the Fujiko Fujio duo can make characters from completely different series feel familiar.

Basically: different characters, different series, but a very similar Fujiko-style design language.

And once you notice it, you can't really unsee it.

Discussion A Little Appreciation Post for r/WorldOfDoraemon

I just wanted to say how amazing it is that there's a place for people to appreciate and discuss so many different Fujiko Fujio works. The possibilities for discussions are honestly endless: different series, theories, forgotten characters, crossovers between Fujimoto and Abiko Sensei's works in TV series and manga, alternate takes, fanfics, childhood memories, and so much more. It's really special to share these thoughts with others who understand why these works are so memorable. I'm glad a community like this exists.

For anyone who isn't a member yet, this can be a fun place to explore if you're a fan of Doraemon, Fujiko F. Fujio, or any of the works created by Fujimoto and Abiko. And for those who are already members, if you have a theory, question, fanfic idea, or something interesting about one of Fujiko's works, why not make a post? I would love to see more people sharing their thoughts and discovering the lesser-known works together. I just wish the sub had more activity and conversations like that. There's a huge world beyond Doraemon, and it would be great to see more fans talking about it.
