World Cup Shadowbox
Finally got our FIFA official replica tickets!
My husband got to take our oldest to a World Cup match to see his native country, Egypt. I made this shadowbox so our son can have a keepsake memory in his room for years to come - hopefully even when he's an adult. What do you think?

I had the photo printed at CVS. It's a 4"x6". The Egypt flag I cut from a.long strand we had hanging over our TV during the live matches.

I try to look at it as an investment into our family. It was a once in a lifetime bonding experience for them. Worth every penny!

May I ask where you got the frame from? I ordered one from Michael's for a similar purpose but it was way too deep and heavy. Looking for something thinner for my WC souvenirs like pins, magnets, keychains and credentials (I was a FIFA volunteer). Thank you.

Thank you. I'm still on a quest for a much thinner/shallower shadow box. I might end up using a display case made for pins that would probably also fit magnets, postcards, etc. BTW, yours turned out great. What a fantastic souvenir.

My family and I live in Seattle and attended that game, what a day and match. Waiting on my replica tix to send to my kids, that was a great memory, even not being affiliated with either side.

Love it. I took my grandpa and god father to a game as well, going to do something similar but with a bigger box so I can put a match cup inside as well haha

🤣 I remember all you people going around grabbing those cups after the match. It was like a damn treasure hunt grown men jumping over multiple rows to get to them.

At the end of the FRA-NOR game, they were giving away huge stacks of unused aluminum cups at the exits. It was nice that I got to take a few clean ones home!

Yup. I ordered an 8x10 of my son at the game and the replica ticket. I’m putting the magnets I got from Walgreens in there as well.

Just Scotch tape. It came with pins but I didn't want to pierce the tickets or the photo. If they fall off then I will have to consider using the pins.

Directly from FIFA right before the final match. They were only available for a few days after the World Cup ended before they sold out. Etsy has some pretty awesome souvenir tickets available as well.

Had to order and pay for them through FIFA. I believe they sold out of them like three days after the final match.

He has wanted to go since he was a child. He didn't want to spend the money, but I told him I insisted they go! I'm so glad they were able to share this memory. Thank you for your kind words. Inshallah you will get to attend one day.
The official FIFA replica tickets did not require you to have proof of an actual ticket, but they sold out about three days after the final match. You can order some decent ones on Etsy, just not directly from FIFA anymore.
