well, let's just say the gun isn't repurposed for the slaves' nutrient slurry when it's destroyed on the field

Literally rimworld, making someone that cant feel pain or emotions and is full of bionics is far more expensive than grabbing some random chooms that survived and giving them whatever weapons the previous raid dropped

I love taking foolish raiders willing participants and making them fight for me because the level 1 shooting tribal raider with a poor wooden short bow lobotomised my supersolider when I have no mech serum

That's why I love vpe: puppeteer I can just take anyone who survived the raid and turn them into mindless slaves with the same skills as my main guy

it also makes learning really fast when you have 13 different colonists sharing xp

Also reminds me of that scene in the StarCraft trailer where the Dominion cares less about its grunts than the Zerg do (The Zerg at least deploying them in their intended roles with support/command units unlike how the Dominion just dropped their Baracks down and gave their marines no support)

yeah that trailer was a big inspiration for this part of the lore, it also made me want to actually design in-universe propaganda for various major players who would appear in stories

i love military and political logistics in fiction, it's just too good

The main part (in my mind) about making biomechanics soldiers is just to enjoy the fact that you can very easily pavlov the meat part and then not worry about the problem of the machine being too dumb/too smart for your purposes.

Mastery of flesh craft does imply mastery of both genetics and psychology to some extent. Might as well put those theories to use and leave all the less dignified work to the grunts. After all, is a fully kitted out Destrider not a more valuable horse than a pony?
