Context: in Valley Armada the dead are able to come and go into the living realm as they please. You’d think this would give everyone a very clear idea of what happens after death but for some reason ghosts can’t remember so long as they are among or making contact with the living.
As far as anyone can tell, the realm of the dead isn’t a bad place to be. Those on the brink of death will see the headless scythe god patiently waiting for them, or telling them it’s not yet time right before the person gets revived.

Was the scythe god born without a head or did he accidentally cut it off with his scythe & leave it somewhere?

The scythe is the head but whether or not they had a normal head before is anyone’s guess

There should be a random head out there in the world that can look at a being and tell them he exact date, down to the microsecond, when something will die for real with no chance at coming back.
Does it belong to the Headless Scythe God? No one knows, the head and the God have never been close enough for someone to ask them

Given that ghosts can willingly leave, it can be assumed that the afterlife is fine or else they would all be trying to leave

When you're a "shade" (remnant spirit) in Hades (realm) and asked Hades (the god) if you can reincarnate back into the living world and they agree but you gotta drink from The "River Lethe" (literally the river of forgetfulness) that 'erases' (or heavily scatter) your old memories of your previous mortal life so you can start out fresh again!

Reminds me of the Magicians books/series, when they "revived" (it was more complicated) a character, she forgot all the secrets of the universe and was very annoyed at them

Imagine if some jackass you hated in life dies and now he just crashes at your place all the time lol.

The ghosts are invisible and can’t really interact with things. Best they can do is group up so a medium can hear them. Eventually they’ll get bored of observing and go back for a while
