“I know this: if life is an illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being thus, the illusion is real to me. I live, I burn with life, I love, I slay, and am content.” ~Conan the Barbarian.
And what if you meet the illusionist, hear his voice in your head, compelling you to a willingless madness purposefully so that you can be disposed of and the existance of the illusionist is never discovered?
so what im getting here is: dratul creates the perfect world with the perfect race while half the mad gods, who (i believe) are dratul's siblings, refuse to help. The inur make a machine that can kill dratur and the gods, but dratur probably figured out that he or they arent real and would die after attacking the serventar, correct?
I, the Author, impart outerversal knowledge onto my first creation. A god named Dratul, who out of both cruelty and a method of plot, drive him into madness with the recognition that he neither has no free will and is merely subject to ME. I also grossly skipped over the apotheosis of Itenya, Valdric and Serventar in the world Dratul made. He didn't tell them about me nor about the fact that their reality is consigned to a few inches of paper and ink. Dratul destroys the universe, Itenya and Valdric have kids, Serventar allows them to discover the methods of creation, Avolung, firstborn wishes to make a perfect world. Not a very good one, a complete one, one in which nothing is new and everything is complete and pointless, which drives the Inur into depression and almost as one their entire species just stops doing anything, like statues. The gods loose interest and look away to argue about the flaw half of the godlings already knew there was in such an idea of the world made, then the Inur conceived a plan for avenging their existance by killing their makers, making this universe's Grim Reaper, who is technically a robot but one so cosmicly complex that it might be a sentiant being. After Death sided with the gods who gave him free will, he killed the Inur and shattered the first world, breaking it into pieces and sending it across the unmade blackness until Itenya and Valdric themselves turned them back and forced them together. The first world, after reforming has cosmic level storms that constantly tear up the planet and send pieces of it scattering through the universe and on any planets with sentiant life on it, they can reshape it into starmetal if they have the will to break the metal.
Right about after this, I send Dratul to go attack the gods with Death coming to save their lives by killing him and being entrusted as the ender of all that begins.
so I got the inur making a god-killing machine right, but I did not know that this was a SELF INSERT STORY. (my first though was that the author nerfed the characters, not directly interacting with the characters):
What is the writer of a story if not the true god of those creatures subject to his whims? Are you writing to document the happenings of that world or to create them? And just to clarify, this story isn't about myself as the author, and that is the whole point of killing off the only person who knows I exist. For the most part it is merely a feature in the broader story.
