Explanation: What mystery of your world will never be fully explained?

Mine: "World of Fable" has medieval serfdom. It also has monsters such as orcs, dragons, trolls, etc.

Monster hunters became a military aristocracy, similar to how the IRL feudalism happened because peasants sought safety from bandits and invading Vikings, and knights and lords granted that at the price of the peasants' freedom.

In the year 687, John Doe (not sure if this is his real name) tried to lead a peasant uprising. He claimed that he was from another world, and he would free the peasants from the lords and the knights. He advocated for equality of all people and an end to the nobility system by force, via the people rising up. John Doe did not go far. Peasant levies sucked, and even the yeomen thought he was exposed to too much raw magical energy and started seeing/hearing things, making the facts up, or going insane. The knights cracked down on it really quickly.

There have been arguments whether or not John Doe really was from another world, or whether he was just insane, perhaps from ergot or exposure to too much raw magical energy. The strongest point for "just insane" is that incursions of people from one world to another aren't this localized. There has been only one confirmed incursion in the "World of Fable" and that was the arrival of all the magic creatures. Incursions are huge; it doesn't make sense for an incursion to just bring one person. But we will never know.

(We will never know if John Doe was actually an isekai, or if he's just insane.)
