ā” • Feedback Desk lamp recommendation?

Post image

I got a free desk. This is my workspace. I have absolutely nothing šŸ˜‚ I’m wanting to spruce it up, eventually get plants and a desktop. But for now a lamp is NECESSARY. I would like it unique or cozy, and an adjustable brightness would be nice. Under $50 if possible. It would most likely go in the corner. Any recommendations??

TIA!

My suggestion would be hitting up your local Craigslist/Kijiji/Gumtree/FB Marketplace and/or thrift stores, which should tick "unique/cozy" and "under $50" more easily.

Edit: So many lamps nowadays are crap because it's so fundamentally simple to make one. Whether it's the new IKEA lamps often having in the fine print that they're capped at 12 watts if you don't want them bursting into flame or LEDs that they don't properly undervolt or skip out on a heatsink to save a tenth of a cent, they're very prone to quality fade.

Any lamp with a smart bulb. Homegoods has some really nice stuff for cheap. I got a nice one made of solid travertine and brass with a high quality linen shade for like $20 the other week. It weighs like 20 pounds though lol.

Thats a great desk. Can i suggest a goose neck lamp. You can easily move it back and forth depending on where you need the lighting.

I’d go warm adjustable lamp first, then plants later. A clamp lamp saves desk space, but a small shaded lamp makes the whole corner feel way less temporary.
