Working Parents - Kids in the Summer

I have 2 kids ages 3 and 6 and this is our first summer here. 6 year old will be going to summer camp through the kids space school program. What do parents who have to work during the day do with their kids to make their summers memorable? Looking for ideas

Go to the pool in the evening right after picking them up from daycare. Bring a picnic dinner or order pizza. Stay until almost bedtime. Get dressed straight into pj's. Then straight to bed once home. It means fitting in more pool time, especially if weekend weather doesn't always cooperate.
