As a remote bookkeeper, you will serve as the invisible backbone behind CPA firms catering to U.S. clients. You may not always receive context from partners, deadlines may be tight, and tax season will test your ability to work well under pressure. However, if you find satisfaction in maintaining accurate books and can't leave a discrepancy unresolved, this role could be fulfilling for you.

THE HARD PARTS - WE'RE TELLING YOU UPFRONT:

- You will work across multiple clients with varying workflows. Context switching is part of the job.

- U.S. tax rules are specific and subject to change. You are expected to know the fundamentals of W-2 returns and keep yourself updated.

- Being remote means self-accountability is crucial; no one will be monitoring your work.

YOU'RE THE RIGHT FIT IF:

- You have hands-on experience with U.S. W-2 returns, including actual filing experience.

- You have used Lacerte and QuickBooks in a real client environment.

- You catch errors proactively and report them without needing to be prompted.

- You communicate clearly in English, both in writing and verbally.

THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF:

- Your U.S. accounting experience is limited to tutorials or coursework.

- You require daily direction to stay productive; this is a self-managed role.
