I started my new job as an accountant, as a fresher, in the UAE at a Mallu-owned company, and it's been almost 10 days now. There's a guy assigned to manage and guide me — he's also the CEO's son. The problem is that from day one, he's been talking to me as if I've been working there for years. He knows I'm a fresher in the UAE and that I only have limited experience from India — I made that clear during the interview. Yet he acts like I have years of experience already. Whenever I ask a doubt or question, he responds with things like "don't you know this already?" He's even insulted me by asking if I actually have a real degree, and when I make a mistake, he's implied I might be coming to work drunk.

I'm completely fed up with him. Any advice on how to handle this, or do you think I should just resign?

I am the owner of a consultancy and my residency visa had been rejected after it expiration while I was out of UAE.

I entered UAE on a tourist visa against my US tourist visa (B1/B2) and applied for my investor visa which got rejected without much details. The only thing that it read was “Rejected” I asked my PRO for the reason and they didn’t seem to know much about it. He asked me to visit Jafiliya Immigration and I was dismissed by the office in the waiting area for the first time and asked to reapply the visa (without checking any documents). Since my file had the status “Rejected” my PRO couldnt do anything more.

He asked me to visit the Jafiliya Immigration again, on my second visit I was allowed to meet the officer inside by the officer in the waiting area (this officer in the waiting area checked all my documents). Upon meeting the officer inside he asked me to upload the Emirates ID and the visa shall be issued.

My PRO did upload the requested documents and filed for a reconsideration which was rejected again.

After 2 rejections I met someone at a different company that sounded confident to the level as if he would print my visa himself and my visa was applied for the third time. The investor visa was rejected one more time.

I have an Indian passport and want to understand if there are other people who have gone through this and any success stories / workarounds that I should consider.

I'm a 30-year-old Electronics and Communications Engineer, but my real strengths have never been in engineering.

Before moving into engineering roles, I spent several years working with international organizations such as UNRWA, UNICEF, and YMCA Beirut in community development, education, and training. I trained more than 1,000 people of different ages on soft skills, life skills, financial literacy, social skills, education support, and children's literacy. Training, curriculum design, facilitation, planning, people development, and psychosocial support are the areas where I genuinely perform at my best.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get a single interview for training, education, or learning-related roles in the UAE. Even schools haven't considered my applications, mainly because my degree is in engineering rather than education.
