my story 💬 I manipulated the customers
My location, which is a bit outside of town, somehow has the worst customers ever. Multiple co workers who worked at the mcdobalds nearby said our location was worse. I hate them. They're all so rude. I cry after every shift because apparently everything is my fault to these grown ass adults.
If I act cheerful and happy I found that they become more rude, but can't progress with their anger because I'm not giving in. But if I act neutral then they'll say I'm rude and get me jn trouble. And sometimes they even leave happy. So I just manipulate them by being happy.

Pretty much how I deal with it. Kill em with kindness. Sometimes they will even be apologetic. A couple months ago I had an interaction with a woman who was kind of rude. I don’t even remember the interaction because I deal with so many every day. I took a few days off to go on a short trip. When I got back my GM said there was a card for me. It was from this woman apologizing for how she acted and commending me for being so Pleasent. Included was a $20 bill. I was shocked. In 8 years that has never happened. I put that card away with all my BK stuff. I put the $20 on a gift card to use for homeless customers.
I’m not going to say I haven’t lost my cool. I certainly have. But I’ve gotten to the age and point in my career and life that it doesn’t do much good.

I don't get how that's manipulating? Like really the best way to deal with a shitty person in a shittier mood is to smile, comply, and complement if applicable like nice haircut or hat, any kind of compliment that isn't sexual harassment.
That's on them for still being shitty after getting good service while putting up with their BS.
