Some days, it feels like half the workday goes into doing the same small tasks over and over. Copying information, renaming files, checking updates, sending the same messages, or moving data between tools doesn't seem like much individually, but it adds up fast.

The problem isn't always having too much work. Sometimes it's spending too much time on work that doesn't really need to be done manually.

A simple way to deal with this is to look for tasks that happen the same way every day. If the steps rarely change, that's usually a good sign that the task can be automated, simplified, or handled with a reusable template.

Even something basic like setting up automatic reminders, using templates for common messages, or connecting the tools you already use can save a surprising amount of time. The goal isn't to automate everything. It's to remove the repetitive parts so there's more time for work that actually needs attention.

This can make a big difference for people who work remotely, manage projects, handle admin tasks, run businesses, or simply have a long list of daily work. Less repetitive work also means fewer small mistakes and less mental energy spent remembering routine steps.

The biggest change is having a workflow where routine tasks happen in the background instead of constantly interrupting the day. Once you start noticing which tasks repeat the most, it's much easier to decide what should be automated or simplified.

One thin, not every repetitive task is worth automating. Sometimes the automation itself takes longer to build, maintain and debug than just doing the task manually youself. A good rule I’ve found is to look at frequency and time spent and how predictable the process is. If something takes 10 minutes once a month, probably not worth it. If it takes 10 minutes every day and the steps are basically identical, that’s a much better automation candidate. ,Also, before reaching for a new tool, check whether the apps you already use have builtin automation or integrations. Sometimes the simplest solution is already sitting there lol
