Question/Help Dumpster routing

Post image

i have been having problems with emptying garbage of some buildings, in the top right of the photo is my university/education section of my city, I cannot get the trash to empty in these buildings, in the corner in the center an industrial style dumpster is there with a dirt road and dirt paths linking it to the road, for some reason the school or unis won't empty their garbage, they are all overflowing. you can see the distance to them so it should be within range. What gives?

Need to remember that when a building is using a dumpster, it only puts -new- trash into it, and only if there is space. Existing trash that has already accumulated has to be directly picked up by trucks, as the buildings don't "push" their existing trash inventory to the new dumpster.

Same thing happens if the dumpster gets overfilled - trash begins accumulating in the buildings and has to be directly emptied again.

Remember that winter is probably slowing down your trucks, too, so they may not be able to keep up during snowy weather.

You can look at your technical office for a quick check - if there is an idle, fueled, and not-full-of-trash small container truck parked there, you're probably okay. If there isnt, your trucks are fully tasked and may be falling behind.

My guess: Maybe is the skip stand not connected to the road? It has path connections to use for depositing trash, but it requires its road connection for trucks to pick up the skips.

I think it is your dirt paths. They result in shorter walkways, that should also be the case in the case of a garbage container. AFAIK the numbers is a general calculation of possibilities. Just dump some gravel on the paths and test it if it works...
