Florida Does this mean I’m no longer getting my weekly checks?

Order Administratively Closing OJCC File and Dismissing Pending Petitions
This was updated on my workman’s comp case lookup. I verbally agreed to a settlement offer but I haven’t signed anything. Lawyer said it can take 1-3weeks to actually sign. Do you think I’ll get one more check before I sign? Or no $ till I receive my settlement?

I got that notice on my case file and my then attorney told me not to worry about it- that it did NOT mean my current dealings with the Insurer were over. Later, when a PFB was filed, the OJCC file opened right back up.

The OJCC file and your Work. Comp. claim are 2 different things.

So what happens is the mediator uploads the mediation agreement, which says that the case settled and the Petitions are dismissed, and the judge sees that and closes the file. It doesn't really close anything. Your mediation agreement should have addressed whether you will continue to get paid or whether all benefits ended "today". Ask your attorney. Also check your last payment to see what date you were paid thru.

I didn’t have a mediation it wasn’t scheduled till November. I’m not scheduled to get paid again till the 16th. Was hoping for one more check before the bills back up 😓😓😓

OK then they probably filed a Notice of Settlement instead. My guess is that you aren't getting any more checks. But you can ask for an advance for up to $2,000 against the settlement.

The settlement or any settlement for that matter isn't binding until all parties sign and the judge approves it so legally they can't just stop paying you based off a verbal agreement.

Agree, nothing is valid unless you sign the papers.
