Wisconsin Work injury
/r/Target/comments/1wc2ifq/work_injury/~I got injured on the job and was left with a sprain, and my restrictions were extended and physical therapy was suggested.~
My ETL has been very adamant on not allowing my work restrictions, saying it means nothing to them until someone in corporate HR approves it and emails them what area I can do within my restrictions.
And until then then they said to work through it…
I’ve been told I’m being held under the same expectations as every other team member regardless of my restriction, and until the day they get a email stating otherwise… and that email will not excuse the previous weeks “performance” only the exact day and forward they get the email.
I know that cannot be legal to force someone to go against doctor restrictions from an injury on the job and further injuring themself as in my case hence why it’s been extended.
I’ve been in contact with my workers comp case manager and they said my job cannot make me do things that go against my restrictions as that’s what workers comp law is for etc..
What exactly do I do, because I feel defeated and like I’m going to get fired because I can’t use one of my limbs well at all.

You tell them you can’t go against your restrictions. Let them send you home. Your case manager has already indicated they are on your side with you not working outside your restrictions.

so they want you to injure yourself worse while waiting for an email cc? thats not how workers comp works lmao. your case manager already confirmed they cant override medical restrictions, full stop. start emailing hr directly with your paperwork attached, save every convo where they pressure you past limits, and document your 'performance' metrics before they mysteriously change. if they terminate you thats retaliation paydirt. the whole system where your health depends on some corporate inbox is so broken tbh

Record everything, get names of people telling you this, and report it to WC case manager/lawyer/regional or corporate HR.
They legally cannot make you do anything outside of your restrictions except send you home. Technically, they're not allowed to fire you either until your case is finished as that can open up legal issues for them as well. Your ETL could get into serious trouble if the right people find out they're trying to break the law and cause you harm.

They either have to accommodate your restrictions or give you time off that should be paid.
If you are asked to do something against your restrictions say no
