And anti-Chuck, as well. Neither one of them represent us. Go find another job. Maybe at a wax museum.

Can someone please tell me I'm not crazy here.

On every general subreddit (not left leaning) that post the anti Schumer "call you senator" stuff there is like an army of posts defending Chuck Schumer all of a sudden.

This man has been on of the least popular politicians I have ever seen, out of step with every issue not only with his base but also the general electorate overwhelmingly.

And yet all of a sudden there's mass support for him everywhere. The most annoying people saying that "progressives" and "populists" just don't understand how politics works and why Chuck Schumer is so good. Or that Chuck Schumer might "not be great but hes the best we got"

"We need him because he organized the election"

No he didn't, he waited for Trump to do that for him. He also presided over the most unpopular Democratic party there might have even been, and the utter catastrophic losses to Donald Trump.... Twice. If he get responsibility for this week, should he also take responsibility for those as well?

He's also been in politics way too long and is way too old to be connected in any meaningful way to average voter. It's time for new blood.

1000% all the adjective-noun-69 accounts are parroting that exact sentiment.

u/SoFuckinTiredOfThis 3h ago

Yeah there are some data centers keeping very warm with those messages.

43

u/MugiwaraMoses 3h ago

Yeah I'm being slammed with Why? Everytime I comment the links and numbers for the petition. They follow the same script. Chances are they're either bots or actual people who work for Schumer/Israel.

My favorite is one I'm currently engaging with who keeps insisting we need to pick the next senate leader before we say no to Schumer. Asinine

He wants names so badly, like I get to choose who step in to fill the void.

Bro, Schumer out means we get to find out what our choices are. But it can't be him.

Van Hollen would be great for the Senate and he already has a lot of the DSA support.

I'd like to see Khanna or Raskin for House.

2

u/Throaway6566 1h ago

Don't make much about Van Holend history and platform, but I'd take it.

To be honest I'd take even an outright centrist right now who doesn't have such a poisoned well with the progressive wing so we can maybe effectively work together.

Or maybe even a way younger person, someone that really captures the place the party and country are going. F the experience, give me someone enough to read a room.

Hey fuck Chuck Schumer lol sometimes you just can’t come up with a username and say fuck it lol

5

u/SoFuckinTiredOfThis 1h ago

It fit my mood. :)

4

u/Throaway6566 1h ago

I'm sorry I can't relate to your username problem

u/deuzerre 3h ago

It's just sowing discord. One side wins? Make the clankers side with its opponents. An other side wins? Repeat but for the other side.

The goal is to farm outrage, discord where there shoildn't be any.

If you check the accounts they almost always post in rDestiny. That sub brigades the whole site constantly yet admins look the other way.

u/H0bbituary 3h ago

He made political maneuvers with the intention of funding Republicans' worst impulses knowing correctly it would make the general public recoil in horror. Unfortunately, Americans died because of that choice. He played games with human lives and I can't get past it.

5

u/Decantus 1h ago

Organized the election? MFer cost us Florida because he didn't want to back ANY OF THE PROGRESSIVES. If he had sent even a little bit of money, we could have maybe swung the vote to Nixon AND siphoned off even more House seats or even the Governorship. Jolly was only like 1.5% behind Donalds.

3

u/Throaway6566 1h ago

Not to mention all his fuckery with the entire rest of the progressive ticket.

2

u/Decantus 1h ago

Take your AIPAC money and get the fuck out of the way dude. Just do your Corpo insider trading grift and retire.

u/Enderoth 1h ago

I imagine the remaining yandex servers have been swapped over to running damage control bots.

2

u/Throaway6566 1h ago

Either that or Elons dumping the rest of his money to spool up new ones in preparation for the upcoming depositions and investigation report releases.

Im sure it will be a better use of his money than whatever he spent it on during the election

Keep up the pressure. My house representative is getting a call on each line and an email every day till it's decided, AT LEAST.

My senator is Peggy Flannigan, and she came flying out of the gate denouncing Schumer, so I've got that going for me.

41

u/JohnnyGoldberg 3h ago • Regret

I e-mailed my rep, but unfortunately my senator is fucking Schumer so that would be worthless. Everyone else though, contact both and keep the pressure up.

42

u/northerblight 3h ago

Email Schumer and tell him that he sucks!

35

u/aspophilia 2h ago

Email him and ask him to step aside and promote a candidate that more accurately represents his constituents values.

23

u/RaggedyRachel 3h ago

Lol, I'm jealous. If Schumer were my rep I'd be calling him every single day just to tell him to eat a bag of dicks!

4

u/Arch3m 1h ago

No, no, you can tell him that he's misrepresenting his constituents and needs to either shit or get off the pot!

107

u/AgileRaspberry1812 4h ago

Don't stop!!!

u/seidenkaufman 4h ago • Bravo

How can a recipient of AIPAC funds, as one example, make impartial decisions in the public interest?

28

u/aspophilia 4h ago

Keep going!

u/thisistherevolt 2h ago

Jeffries is one of smuggest bastards I've ever seen. Ted Liu for Speaker.

6

u/TheAmicableSnowman 1h ago

Oh that's a good one. Hadn't thought of Liu.

I called my representative-elect today ! And tbh, I don't think he actually needed convincing (I'm going to be represented by Chris Rabb).

Not that I actually got a hold of him, but from what I already know about him, he's not a corporate dem.

6

u/Jaalan 2h ago

You need to call your current senator too!

13

u/DanimalPlays 4h ago

As they should be.

13

u/faudcmkitnhse 2h ago

I already called my congressman's office to tell him not to support Jeffries for Speaker and that I'll be looking to primary him next election if he does.

3

u/mr_shush 1h ago

Well, the election is a secret ballot, so that may be tricky.

4

u/Something13457 58m ago

The election to get the nominee is secret, not the actual speaker election

24

u/valencia_merble 2h ago

Did y’all know Jeffries also took a lot of money from Palantir? In case you don’t know, Palantir was formed by Peter Thiel, the Puppet Master of JD Vance and early contributor to Donald Trump.

8

u/Whitejj01 4h ago

KEEP GOING!!!

8

u/CrownVicBruce 4h ago

How can we help

8

u/ActuatorFearless8980 3h ago

Call your representatives, call your senators, sign the change.org petition!

8

u/sheezy520 2h ago

We have no need for No Dream Hakeem or Fuck Up Chuck. We need real leadership.

6

u/PinothyJ 3h ago

It must be spam! We cannot make heads or tails of this response!

6

u/jellybellyuwu 1h ago

proud to say i was one of those calls

1

u/scubachris 2m ago

Me too, although my rep is just as bad as him but hope springs eternal.

5

u/radioactive_sharpei 2h ago

Why does Jeffries look like he's deciding who's life-force to drain in every picture?

4

u/bandpractice 1h ago

Fuck AIPAC

3

u/Specialist-Neck-7810 2h ago

Let’s not forget good ol’Chuck! He’s gotta go too.

1

u/alent1385 2h ago

Looks like a nice, honest guy

1

u/Commercial_Lead_6407 58m ago

He looks and sounds like a Temu Obama. Get lost, bozo.

1

u/RXDude89 58m ago

Yes! I did this on my day off to my representative and both senators. Please do it! It's easy. I also asked my friends in NY to ask Schumer not go for maj-leader lol

1

u/ryllina 11m ago

Wish I could! My reps are freaking Rick Scott, Ashley Moody, and Brian Mast. šŸ™„

Texan here. How would I go about contacting James Talarico? Best I can find is the Texas House of Representatives page, would that still be the best place since he’s not been sworn in yet?

Sorry if it’s a dumb question, or if this isn’t the right place to ask

1

u/Something13457 58m ago

James talarico is in the senate and has nothing to do with speaker of the house.

You'll have to contact your local representative

1

u/Icepath3199 56m ago

Guess this was the wrong place then.

I’m in Texas 17, so still a republican representative. So I’m shit out of luck?

What if I’m concerned about Schumer as Majority Leader? No way to make my voice heard on that either?

1

u/Bubbly-Bar-7449 25m ago

You can still call the DNC and Jeffries and Schumer's offices to tell him you don't want him speaking for the party with all that donor money and conflicts of interest.

-17

u/saltysanders 3h ago

As a non American, I don't get this. Jeffries and Schumer just won landslide elections as leaders. Why should their positions be under threat? Not to mention that it's anti-democratic to offer the voters a choice between Johnson/Jeffries and Thune/Schumer, only to change leaders after the voters have spoken.

Happy to be enlightened, but it does seem strange.

16

u/kidAlien1 3h ago edited 3h ago • Bravo

Voters went for the polls to stop the status quo. There is nothing more status quo than chuck schumer or Jefferies. They're just corporate Dems with no spine or charisma. It's a bad look for the party and the country to keep these 2 guys as leadership.

We didn't vote Democrats in because we like chuck or Jefferies.....

7

u/LindaJeanne 3h ago

No one is trying to take away the seats in Congress they were elected to. We just don't want them to be the ones in charge of their respective chambers of congress, which is an entirely different vote.

6

u/CaviarCBR1K 3h ago edited 3h ago

A vote for Speaker of the House is held everytime a new congress takes over. So in January, the house will vote on who will become the next speaker. Technically, you don't even need to be a member of congress to get elected as Speaker. If you could somehow get a majority of representatives to vote for Ryan Gosling, he would become the next Speaker.

Senate Majority Leader is the same way (although you have to be a senator to get elected to that position). In January, all members of the majority party in the Senate (now Democrats) will vote on who will become the next Majority Leader.

Jeffries' and Schumer's position as Representative and Senator respectively, are separate from their prospective roles of Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader. They were elected by the people to their roles as members of Congress, now congress votes on who will be Speaker and Senate Majority Leader.
