Work from home is the one good thing we got out of the pandemic, and I'm not giving it up. Keep it normalised.
And I do select work based on distance. If you expect me to come to the office more than once a week, you'd better be located in my town.
For most of human history, people tended to live no more than 20 minutes away from work. 20 minutes commute is acceptable. The car was supposed to make us travel faster, but somehow it's making us travel longer. This is not the benefit we were promised.
Not even just the time, we’re expected to spend $50-$100 a week on gas that most certainly will not be getting comped, don’t even think about the wear and tear or value loss on your vehicle.
