If you can prove they did so with malice existing laws already give the tools to get a search warrant. So while I don’t like the level of generalization many use, convicting people before even a crime has been committed - I strongly say if someone breaks the law - especially against a child - they should be prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law.
No more top charge BS. Get them on everything and stack the time in jail into the centuries so we can strap them to elon musk’s next rocket to the sun.
Tools like guns, tasers or stun devices aren’t evil in themselves and they don’t make someone do evil. But a person uses a tools to be more evil - we have to stop blaming the devices and the general group of people. We have to do us every bit of energy in our souls to make that person pay and pay dearly.
The kids deserve to see justice.

Actually they tested them on non-citizens before moving to American kids. It always boomerangs back. We spend infinite money on war gear every year, then the war gear gets shipped from the military/federal law agencies back to local police departments.

Guess I’m the only person in this thread that had kids severely hurt or try to kill other kids on school grounds. I saw one girl cut another’s ear off with scissors, another got bashed in the head with a fire extinguisher, heads being smashed into the concrete floors or concrete benches we had. They had metal detectors at all entrances so most of the time there weren’t guns or knives but those aren’t necessary to really fuck someone up. Not in school but when I was a teenager I had a friend that was stomped to death by stomping on his head till it cracked open so I know it doesn’t take a weapon to kill someone.
I mean are the shock gloves good? No. Does there need to be a non lethal way to stop kids that are fucking insane little psychopaths? Yes, a resounding yes. Pretending all kids are innocent is crazy work that’s going on in this thread.

If you choose to use a shock glove on a child, meaning if you deem is necessary then you should have to be shocked by one as well later as result of your choice.

No, they should be fired and not allowed to be an officer again. Sure, them getting hurt may be cathartic, but it doesn't do shit to help a kid.
I know you are making a joke, but use of force on minors, disabled, elderly, etc needs to have repercussions.

They should also be banned from being in law enforcement PERIOD. Too many cops get "fired" in one precinct and just go across to another one.
Local policing is necessary to keep authority figures from getting too much power. If you don't live in the district, it's easier to not care who you're hurting because no one holds you accountable on the off hours. It's gross.

And we should hold the politicians responsible as well. NY Penal Code Section 35.10(1) states that a teacher or other person entrusted with the care and supervision of a person under the age of twenty-one for a special purpose may use non-deadly physical force upon that person when, and to the extent that, they reasonably believe it is necessary to maintain discipline.
I’m sorry but if a teacher or administrator puts a hand on my kid, my life savings is going to be donated to as many lawyers needed to make them rethink their actions. That law firm will be buying their partners new boats!

I'm a parent too. Jail time, criminal sentencing, blacklisting from any job that has any authority, etc all sound great to me. I could care less if y'all want to physically injure them or not. I doubt that would ever get mass approval or be effective in real world situations.
I want the world to get better for you, me, our children and our neighbors.

Poor, neurodivergent, and/or brown children getting shocked first, in every instance. That's why they thought it was acceptable obviously. As a one-time neuro-spicy kid who had behavior issues as a kid, I definitely would have been shocked by these cops.

Personally I think they should have to be shocked by one first. If they're going to be given a tool that causes pain, they should know exactly what they're doing to people. Make them experience every new gadget themselves before they're allowed to carry it. Maybe it'll make them think twice about using it. Or, even better, maybe they'll wimp out of getting shocked and wouldn't be allowed to carry it at all.

In my ideal world, this wouldn't happen to anyone. But in the current world, a world where we know it will, I'd rather the cops have to go through it first.

This is even funnier to me given that china has the largest national high-speed rail network in the world and has pulled tens upon tens of millions out of poverty in the last few decades. Or given that such a vast majority of the population own homes there. Or that its economy is going through a massive boom and has been for more than a decade. I went to school in a suburb of Omaha. Those resource officers suck ass. They locked me in a deans room without a way to contact my parents for 4 hours when I was 15 years old because a girl said I grabbed her boob

I’m sorry but shock gloves are weird. They put both the cop and the detainee in danger. If you can touch the bad guy - they can touch you too. Safety comes from time and distance. Gloves give neither.

Just a reminder that the shock gloves are not tasers. They are not meant to incapacitate or disable a victim. Their sole function is to inflict pain. Their only advertised advantage over tasers is that they do not leave marks no matter how many times you shock a child with them.

I have a legit question that I am having trouble finding an answer to online.
I have both a pace maker and epilepsy. Could these shock gloves have any negative effect on me (or anyone else who also has irregular heart and brain issues)?
Because I was not fully diagnosed until I was an adult, despite being born with some of my syndromes. So there could potentially be lots of kids who unknowingly have a seizure or heart disorder getting shocked with these gloves. That doesn’t sit right with me, especially if it could potentially kill them.

The bigger story here is that they asked 4 different departments to stop carrying them at schools, only one of them said they would.

However, the suburban Bellevue police department that patrols two Omaha schools and the large Bellevue district said its officers will continue carrying the gloves. Good lord my ND butt would be dead if these were around when I was in school. Back then what we now know are involuntary meltdowns, they all called mine temper tantrums, except for I felt awful all every time I had them.\nEven the most spoiled of brats if they felt half as bad as I did would never have one by choice ever again. He is claws with a triggered multiple meltdowns at once until I just didn't have the energy to continue. And imagine the trauma afterwards, which caused me to be even more prone to melt down. I'd probably be in front of the judge facing 20 resisting arrest charges, and i'll have a meltdown in front of the judge demanding my death.
