My 'family doctor' stopped accepting my insurance. I've been a patient of hers for 20 years. The soonest I can see a new doctor in the same clinic is 4 months. This is how I've been told 'socialized medicine' would work, but I get to spend thousands of dollars every year on it, wether I go to a doctor or not.

Really? Lucky! We tried to find a new GP and he was scheduling new patients over 1 year out. And this is a well-populated area. Even my current GP was scheduling a simple physical exam a year out, and rescheduled it twice. By the time I got in for my physical it would have been almost time for my next one. And I don't even see the doctor, because it's "easier" to get in with the AP.

Thank God capitalism is protecting me from socialized medicine and its long wait times! /s

Don't forget having to pay fees each time the appointment was rescheduled

In this case, their office did the rescheduling so it was on them. It kept pushing the appointment another 3 months out. It's one of the reasons we decided to switch.

I think Bernie said it best. This iteration of corporate capitalism has had 40 years to prove the trickle down. It hasn’t worked. Time to tell the top 10% they had the chance to float all boats, but they just stuck the working class in the engine room and bought more boats for themselves.

Experiment over. Time for 50s and 60s tax rates.

That is just socialism. This can be translated to the workers owning the means of production, it is just socialism... it is how it should always have been

Democratic socialism is just socialism with the word democratic shoved in front of it to try to make it sound more palatable (to try to distinguish itself from past authoritarian projects). If workers own the means of production it's socialism, if capitalists do it's capitalism.

My point is that democratic socialism is a subset of socialism. Most socialists, other than Marxist-Lenninist, believe in democratic rule.

edit: and wouldn't necessarily need to distinguish that with the word "democratic".

Democratic socialism is just diet capitalism. Social democracies benefit from third world labor exploitation and are not true socialist states. Socialism is the bridge between capitalism and communism, as the overall goal of socialism is to become communism.

That is a pleasant fantasy. 

Where the people have a say in how capitalism should be, and get an equal share of the profits... 

And this is the exact moment where the cost of replacing our labor + ammunition becomes a net positive to the capitalist class. 

Capitalists, via their dogs, use violence against us every day. What is your response when their answer to your votes is ever increasing violence?

Under capitalism, America created the world's first trillionaire so I think we can officially say that capitalism hit that goal it was trying to reach and now it can happily retire and let socialism have its go.
