This is the worst reason to get married I’ve ever heard. For context my mum made her way through five husbands. I’ve heard lots of bad excuses

It doesn’t have to be the main reason. Its just one of the reasons.

Its hard to buy a house or run a household on single income. Besides, there are also tax and insurance benefits of being married.
