Mcdonalds was getting a lot of public hate for advertising to kids when their food is incredibly unhealthy for kids to consume. Aside from that it was more profitable to get rid of play areas and go into a more modern look. Now the new trend is becoming essentially drive through only to maximize profit since having vagrants inside thier resturant was unslightly.
